my plan was to sit in front of my tv, laptop placed appropriately in lap, and live-blog the oscars. but, ah, of course, the best laid plans…my mom’s flight was delayed and delayed and delayed (there are crazy snowstorms in the midwestm, dontchaknow?!) until she finally rebooked until the morning, and the husband swiped my laptop for himself…so, here i am, blogging the morning after.

the good:

~Ellen Degeneres. love her. she was hilarious all night.

~Jaden Smith might just be my most favorite Oscar presenter to date. he was so freakin’ adorable. i wanted to take him home in my pocket.

~the three biggies giving Marty Scorsese his first Oscar. fabulous.

~all the Leo shout-outs. the academy might not love him, but everyone else sure does.

~the OTHER trio of the night: Jack Black, Will Farrell, and John C. Reilly (who was in both Boogie and Talladega nights…best line of the night by far!)

~i know i’ll get yelled at for this one…but i thought Gwyneth looked great. she remembered to not let her boobies sag like sad little deflated water baloons like in the past.

~the cheesy al gore announcing his non-candidacy:

~normally, i love me some rachel weisz. she’s stunning and always looks good. i actually even liked her dress…but the mound, people! the mound!

the ugly:

~Jack Nicholson goin’ all Britney Spears on us.
