yesterday the husband and i went to Here’s My Baby for our private viewing and order session (sounds fancy, doesn’t it?!!). They are incredibly clever, those folks at HMB. They sit you in a giant room, with giant walls that hold giant portraits of beautiful children.
then, they dim the lights and put on a slideshow presentation, set to music – in this case, True Colors – on a giant viewing screen. and then they proceed to show you the 100 most gorgeous pictures of your children. overwhelming to say the least.
we went in knowing exactly what we were buying. This, in theory, was simple. This, in actuality, not so simple. you want to buy each and every one of the photos. and you want to buy them in 40×40, at least.
and those clever people try to convince you that you NEED to buy the giant portraits of your beautiful children (because, seriously, what kind of parent are you if you don’t buy the lifesize portraits??). It’s a good thing I had the husband with me. He’s the realist. I’m the sucker. I would have spent the grand that you needed to spend to take home the slideshow presentation (because, then, honey, you get to have them all!).
We didn’t get out of there cheap, to say the least. and i won’t divulge (i’ll just tell you it was more than $600 and less than $1,000). and you’ll have to wait until November to see the less-than-stellar scans i’ll be posting online…but until then i’ll leave you with two little green monsters (the third monster slept in this morning and missed the photoshoot):
