Once upon a time I went on The Mom Strike.
And it was for a copious amount of reasons—including, but not limited to, sloth, disrespect, ungratefulness (the new deadly sins?) and THE LUNCHBOXES.
Oh yes. The lunchboxes.
In you recall, I ask my kids for exactly one thing when they come home from school—to put their empty lunch boxes in the kitchen so I am not combing the house for them in the early hours of the a.m. when I’m way too tired to be packing three different lunches for three different picky palates.
And just about every day there’s at least one box missing.
2/3. Every day.
So. This morning I went downstairs and noticed one camo lunch box and one toile lunch bunch. But there was nary a polka-dotted one.
And that is how it came to be that Isabella Rose Martell made her own lunch.
I couldn’t tell you what’s in it, other than the bagel and cream cheese, raspberries and blackberries I saw her fiddling with.
But she made her lunch all on her own. And I breathed a sigh of a parenting win relief.
Now, since I’m in really great mood due to my aforementioned parenting win, I thought I’d give away a $100 LOFT gift card.
(I don’t get it right all that often, you guys, let me enjoy it when I do. It’s like the hand-holding punishment all over again.)
Now, I don’t know if you know this, but I’m a huge fan of LOFT. I wear it often, and I used to have to basically max out my credit cards every time I’d cross the border into Canada’s, uh, pants(?)—the good ole US of A. But then LOFT went and did something wonderful—it opened a store at Yorkdale Mall in Toronto where I could buy as many cardigans as I wanted. They have the best cardigans (and they have wee petite sizes for my wee petite bosom).
But then something even better happened. LOFT caught on to my obsession and asked me to be a brand ambassador of sorts and I laughed because I was probably the perfect choice for this and so a fabulous relationship was born, and I’m sure the LOFT ladies have tired of seeing my mug at their Yorkdale location. And now! You guys, now! They are opening up another store—at the Eaton Centre in Toronto—and this Thursday night (that’s tomorrow!) I will be front and center at the LOFT Press Preview Party and I want YOU to come shopping with me with your brand-new $100 gift card.
Plus, there’s a good chance I will need you to stop me from buying one of everything on my almost-summer wish list:
1. Natural Jewel Print Tie Hem Henley Shell, $59.26
2. Cabochon T-Strap Jelly Flip Flops, $21.20
