flower Black Eyed Peas. oh my god. this is a band that I have loathed for YEARS. they have always topped my “this shit is totally overrated” lists. but, my god. I cannot stop listening to them right now.

flower The Virgin Suicides. the book and the movie.

flower Jake Ryan. and my I heart Jake Ryan t-shirt. and all the lovely ladies who love him too and who totally agreed to an all-girls awesome movies marathon sleepover at my house. I hope they will also agree to join in my search for Michael Shoeffling. because he has disappear and apparently, he is now a lumberjack. A LUMBERJACK. swoon.

flower realtor.com. I can seriously spend all the livelong day on this site looking at real estate. I have recently found my dream house. It’s right down the street from my house in this cute little pocket and I have always dreamed of a house with red brick and black shutters and white pillars. sigh. I may or may not drive past this house daily. and it may or may not drive my children batty.

  1. Oh those men with the Irish accents and 5 o’clock shadows have me too! Zooey is an awesome actress. Love the drive-thru idea. Shit outside is always welcomed!

  4. So instead of the little asterik/bullet point thingys, it says “flower”. Like “flower my roots.” I was confused how to flower your roots, that are auburn.

I can’t wait to go to Chick Fil-a when I’m in Atlanta. I miss their waffle fries.

  5. If you like Surin’s Red Curry, we need to do another girls’ night dinner, and I’ll take you to my favorite Thai restaurant in the city. 🙂

  6. I LOVE scruffy irish dudes. And that house is PERFECTION. Kind of the same style as Don & Betty’s on Mad Men. Have you started that yet?

  7. Kristabella –
Hey – – – are the flowers working now? not sure what was going on there???

Comment by ali on August 26, 2009
  8. Oh, where to start…

    – I loathe the Black Eyed Peas, but I can’t get that song of theirs out of my head. I don’t even know what it’s called. Target uses it in their ads. Maybe that’s why I love it. Target is my bitch.

    – Really? Zooey D.? I love you despite that and for always.

    – When my youngest was around 3, he got a “Learn French!” cd in his Chik-fil-A kid’s meal. We drove home listening to it and there was a phrase that sounded like “suck it,” which made me laugh so I kept hitting replay on that part, then my son would giggle. Then I had to pull over and not crash because I heard my baby saying “Suck it!” in the backseat and I thought I’d pass out from laughing.

    – I’m bringing Just One Of The Guys and we’re going to practice walking like dudes.

  22. I LOVE the BEP, and abbreviating their name as “BEP,” and the sound it makes to pronounce it that way. Bep, bep, bep, bep. (Hi, I’m 12 right now.)

Also: The Virgin Suicides is one of my all-time favorite books, ever. Top 5, even.

  28. This is your best list yet, I think. Virgin Suicides? Amazing. That house? Gorgeous. Alicia Silverstone + Aerosmith? THE GOLDEN AGE OF MUSIC VIDEOS.

I think I’m the only one left of my internet friends who hasn’t been let in on the baby carrot secret. I need to remedy that ASAP.

  34. I like lamp. (I HAD TO.)

I like a bajillion of these things on your list, as well, but I must point out that I too will forever be in mad love with the Virgin Suicides (both book and movie). “I’m a high school lover, and you’re my favorite flavor…”

and then not 20 lines later swoon over your 1st edition
    Salinger. Explain this to me.

    I’m waiting…

Comment by Pants Wearer on August 28, 2009
  36. I am so jealous over your Salinger. I have first edition Catcher in the Rye and it cost my husband a fair price. If your ever selling it, I want to be the first to know.

  37. My dream house has always been a red brick house with black shutters and white pillars.

    Seriously.

One went up for sale just around the corner from us in Iowa and it took everything I had not to make an offer on it and come home and be like “Oh, Jared, guess what I did today?”
