i can be a bitch.

i know. you are shocked right now, right? alas, it’s the truth. while the majority of the time i’m sweet like pumpkin pie, there are times where the mean ugly bee-otch needs to make an appearance. some might be kind and call it being feisty, or some might go as far as to give it that lovely little pms acronym label, but truth be told, since i got my mirena iud 2 years ago, i haven’t a clue where in the sam hell i am in my cycles, so one can never say for sure.

last night?

hoo boy the bitch was on the loose. it’s a wonder that my friends still want to be my friends today.

everything was just rubbing me the wrong way…

the way every person felt the need to argue with me when i said that i’ve never been hit on. why is this so hard for people to understand. i have never been hit on, at least not by my definition. deal with it. don’t try to convince me that i have.

the way every person felt the need to argue with me that no, i wouldn’t be fired for taking off too many days in October for Jewish holidays and other exciting adventures. yes, i know i’m not going to get fired. it still doesn’t mean that i enjoy taking off that many days, especially during crunch time. and it still doesn’t mean that even though i won’t get fired that i can go ahead and take a vacation with my friends.

the way the husband felt the need to argue with me about the nudey pics i take for him and email to his blackberry when he’s out with his friends. it’s a good way for him to never get sent them again.

the way every person felt the need to argue with me about politics. because NO, i do not think that Sarah Palin is more qualified than Barack Obama. and no, i do not think that just because she’s “hot” (which is itself up for discussion) that she would make a good VP. and no, i do not think that using the “please, you don’t think they have people who make decisions for them” is a good enough reason for it to be okay to elect someone to office. and no, i don’t think it was okay for Sarah Palin to flub her interview with Katie Couric so badly.

but…there were things, of course, that didn’t rub me the wrong way. When my regular old Dr. Jekyll pumpkin pie self is on the loose.

things like afternoons outside.

and taking a fairy to meet another fairy in person.

and taking said fairy for something else. something much more rite-of-passage-y.

no? how about now?

still no? check out her ears, will you??

oh yes we did!

(we will also not talk about the fact that this morning she only woke up with ONE earring in her ears and i had to search – in the nude – through her entire room for the earring and the backing – the earrings they used to PIERCE her ears..have you seen the ends of those suckers??? like NEEDLES, they are! – and then attempt to get it BACK into her ears. so, *sigh* there will be no Working Closet picture today because i had to trade in my make-up/getting dressed/drying hair time to make a little earring-ed girl happy. but don’t get me started on it. everyone had enough Mr. Hyde last night. heh)

  1. My girls got their ears pierced when they were months old. Adorable. I found that for a toddler, the earrings that came with the piercing were my best bet. They never fell off and I have lost many of earrings in bed.

  2. I can empathize. But my Mr. Hyde has been showing for months now.

The earrings are adorable! I can’t believe they came off that easy though! Are they the ones they pierced them with?

  3. That politics discussion? Enough to make anyone bitchy. Palin is seriously the LAST person that should be elected to office. Why don’t we just elect Brittany?

  4. First time posting on here, but I’ve been reading for a long time. I definitely agree about Palin. That woman drives me nuts. I loved AlwaysCuriousu’s comparison to Britney – right on!

Cute earrings! I’m thinking about doing that for my daughter’s birthday next month.

Anyways just had to make my first comment :)

  5. So you’re telling me this wouldn’t be a prudent time to tell you how gorgeous you are and that I’m really curious about your definition of being hit on?

  11. I’m pretty sure *I* tried to hit on you before. ::laughs:: Though I’m not going to argue it, because my interweb-same-gender-flirt skills are subtle, and I get just as frustrated when nobody believes me. Point: you are gorgeous.

I’m loving the earrings. I’m trying to decide if I should do Addie’s, or wait until she’s old enough to ask (probably by 5, the way things are going).

    BIG! PINK! HEART! :-D

  12. I despise it when people argue with me about things I know I’m right on. It’s almost like they are telling you that your opinions don’t count.

I’m confused, when did this become an Obama or Palin for president election. Because the way people talk about it, that’s what it is now. I mean, Palin is a retard in my head, but it’s still a weird argument.

I hope you have a better day.

  14. who doesn’t have a dr. jekyll and mr. hyde?!personally, i’m not into debating probably b/c it’s not something I grew up with so I tend to take opinions too personally. i bleed real easy ;P i know fry, for one, loves to debate and he’s always up for it. so it’s perfect…you and him (and others) debate and I’m great at keeping myself occupied so…i just sit and watch (which i enjoy!) and either listen or do somethin’ else (like read trashy entertainment news! :) i truly think it’s awesome that we’re so completely different in many ways and then are similar in so many others…it would be damn boring if we all thought the same, did the same things etc…so i, for one, am in favor of dr j and hyde (as long as someone doesn’t get a hurtin’) :)

Too many days off – if you have any sort of work ethic at all then you will feel it – I say that sort of shit at work all the time taking days off for sick kids and no day care etc., even tho its a very family friendly company. I still kind of slink around when I have to.

Also, are the earrings they use for toddlers different than for older kids? I got my ears pierced when I was 13, and I couldn’t get the back of those rat bastards of the posts and out of my ears when it was time to finally take them out!
