i have a phoner with Abby Cadabby today for urbanmoms.ca. While this isn’t my first phone interview, it is my very first ever interview with a 3-year-old. muppet. it will also be my first time doing an interview in my car, on my cell phone, using an actual recording device (and not my trusty old one from 1982 that doesn’t work for crap) but, alas, my interview is in 90 minutes and i’ve yet to figure out how to use the fancy new recording device. hot damn. also…hell if i even know if my lousy motorola pebl even has hands-free. i mean, it should, right? this, friends, pretty much sums up my life. heh.
also…what to ask a three-year-old muppet…hmm…something along the lines of “who would you rather spend time on a deserted island with – Grover or Cookie Monster??” or how about “tell us Abby, why DOES Elmo always talk in the third person? is he trying to channel his inner Bossy?” and i’m dying to know what it was like having Neil Patrick Harris on. because, i mean, come on…it’s Barney Stinson! and he’s “the greatest fairy in all the land”. hahaha.
hrm..in other non-Sesame Street related news….anyone want to talk about the VP debate last night? well, one thing is for damn sure…i should have been playing the “Maverick” drinking game. or maybe the “O’Biden” drinking game or even the “nucUler” because i would have enjoyed watching Sarah Palin’s piece on bang fall into her eye over and over and over (blink. blink. blink) much more had i been hammered. darn tootin‘. seriously…does the woman NOT ever add the “g” at the end of her words? also…can we please teach the woman what the words “achilles heel” mean?????
(blink. blink. blink. blink.)
okay. that’s enough. that’s about as heated as i’m going to get about politics around here. i’m more more apt to talk about shirtless men on Survivor or Sesame Street characters or my need for a new Brazilian waxer (Argentina! i love you! but you are oh-so-far-away. i can’t justify the 40 minute drive anymore. come to my house, love! please!)
oh wait! one more thing! can we talk about how much i loved this movie?
i read the book ages ago. and loved it. LOVED it. i was nervous about seeing the movie, because even though there’s little i wouldn’t give to be inside a Sean Penn/Emile Hirsch sandwich…i worried about how Chris McCandless’ story would play out onscreen. Movie versions sometimes disappoint. (question: your favorite book-turned-movie?)
but…i was so IMPRESSED.
oh, Sean Penn…LOVER. thank you.
my stepdad, however, didn’t enjoy it. he left the room to go watch the end of ENCHANTED. and no, i’m not kidding.
and now…i have a date….with a fairy-in-training 🙂
