booze. gambling. gluttony. PERFECTION. [ The Family ]

miss me? why, yes, i DID disappear yesterday. you see, yesterday was Victoria Day in Canada…commonly known as the May two-four weekend, because, get it? two-four? (we canadians like to use this weekend to booze it up) and it’s usually on the weekend of the 24th…only, um, this year it doesn’t quite work… anyhoo…i DID spend my weekend boozing…

(me. trying to steal the barrels at Jackson-Triggs. me. wearing a fucking jacket on victoria day weekend…GRRR)

i also managed to not lose a penny at the Niagara casino. it’s not as exciting as it sounds, though….since, like my alcoholism, i’m a gambling lightweight. i ONLY play roulette. and i can spend hours at the table on $50. i’m not kidding. hours. on fifty bucks. the people around me were dropping hundreds like they were pennies. and there i was…cautiously placing my single chips on my Hurley’s numbers (kidding. mostly.)

AND I GOT CARDED AT THE CASINO.

yayayayayayayayay!

i was so happy. the dude asked me how old i was and i swear i almost tongue-kissed him on the spot! “i’ll be thirty on thursday…so thank you for making my day!” i said and skipped my way into the casino.

but this was all just a means to an end. and that end was Buffalo. (yeah…that does sound as sad as i thought it might…)

i just wanted to spend the day shopping and eating. and i did both. HELLO, Dunkin Donuts breakfast and Cheesecake Factory lunch!!! (more about those tomorrow. i can’t fit it all in one post!! gah!)

i have to say that finding out that there’s no Anthroplogie in Buffalo made me cry. REAL tears. and realizing that i can’t wear J Crew clothing anymore. i swear. unless you look like her (um, tall, leggy, skinny and gorgeous) or you are very pregnant, or you work for Captain Steubing

it’s a total bust these days. i. didn’t. buy. anything. there. again, more REAL tears.

but, come on, you are totally jealous of this:

I went to Buffalo in February and was sooo excited to go shopping..I even had it all planned out how we were going to smuggle Victoria’s Secret and Target goodies back across the border. And then I didn’t buy a thing. Not one thing. It was sooo disappointing.

See why I bought basically NOTHING last weekend? I spent under $100. It wasn’t worth the stress of trying to smuggle stuff when there wasn’t much good stuff.
But Cheesecake Factory makes it sooooo worth it!
Also, I agree about J Crew. I never bother going in now because I never find stuff I like - and it’s expensive if you just kind of like something and don’t know if you’d really wear it.
