i spent the better half of yesterday in Canada Crown Copyright hell. who knew that a thumbnail image of Canada’s coat of arms to use in an educational book was going to be such a problem? sheesh.
but then i came home. and i really haven’t stopped smiling.
…my old nanny came to visit the kids and she came with Kung Fu Panda and a dozen krispy kreme donuts in tow. so, not only is she a really great person, she knows exactly the way to our hearts. 😉
…and then there was a package waiting for me. from mamatulip. she sent me this
and a mix cd. because we are music twins. i didn’t even need to get past the first two songs (2 & 15/16ths by USS and 15 step by Radiohead) to know that my ears were going to be very, very happy.
because, well, i kind of like Radiohead…(are you on last.fm? what are you waiting for? get over there! and we can be friends and stuff)
…and i found out my blogher roomie Kristabella got offered a job! yay!
,,,and if you hadn’t heard, there was a little election this week in the USofA. and if you didn’t already know, i’m slightly happy with the outcome. (and by slightly i mean dance around in my underwear happy. if i wore underwear, of course) so, naturally, because Slynnro bought it, i had to buy one too. (especially because this time they ship to Canada)
…and we got a GLOWING review from Josh’s parent-teacher conference. Josh is just so unwilling to sit down next to me and give me a minute-by-minute play-by-play of the inner workings of Ms. S’s first grade class (like his big sister did last year). He comes home and i just get the shrug and the “i dunno” when i ask him what he did that day. i get the “everyone” when i asked who he played with. So, it was super nice to hear that he’s socially adjusted! he’s happy! he’s a fantastic reader – in English AND Hebrew! he is super strong in math too! he’s friendly to everyone! he listens!
(my heart. she swells)
the only negative. he’s a SLOB. he doesn’t zip his backpack up and allows it to hang upside down where all his papers and random toys fall out all over the place. his teacher said she walked by the lost and found and found FIVE things that belonged to sir Josh Martell. awesome.
if messiness is their only complaint? i can deal with that!
…i tried on JEANS-FROM-HEAVEN at Aritzia (thanks Metalia!) and i’m sending my sister to buy me some in NYC (thanks, Charna!), where they are half the price. effing Canada prices! oh yes, i’m going to look JUST like Kate Beckinsale does in hers…
…although that probably means i need to stop eating the krispy kremes…
