yesterday i took my girls to Canada’s Wonderland. all by myself. for the entire day.

i know, brave, right?

It was actually really nice. the weather was great, the girls were great, each one had one mental breakdown…Isabella’s was because she was tired and Emily’s was because she was Emily. but once that was over, the three of us had such a nice day.

until i came home at 5:00 and the husband pointed out my sunburn. i was all, “ah, it’s not a sunburn, i’m just a little red”

but then as it got later, it got tomato-ier. and my nose? the only word i can use to describe it is Rudolph. but i felt fine, so we still met the usuals for our sunday night out – we went for dinner and drinks. here’s a tip… nachos + beer + sunburn + dehydration = one horrible night.

i swear, i was up all night feeling like ass. i thought i was going to die. and i didn’t even get to enjoy the series finale of Sopranos. i was that sick.

Today i’m off at a conference….Book Expo Canada….with my queasy stomach and my stop light red nose. wish me luck…because i’m seriously going to need it.

and nobody better freakin’ spoil the last sopranos for me. because i’m in no mood for that.

  2. Noxema works amazingly for me when I get a sunburn. You could try some of that (and maybe con Gabe into a massage to put it on?)

  3. i burn very easily so i know what you’re feeling. one time the top of my feet were so burned that i had to take a couples day off of work because i couldn’t wear shoes! hope your trip works out for you though. take some aloe!

  5. Sunburn sucks. Poor you 🙁
I try not to get burned (cause I never tan), but definitely go with the aloe vera to make you feel better. And Tylenol for the pain.
Oh – and you’re practically across the street from my work … I’ll be waving out my non-existent window.

  8. I have a little spoiler on the gossip site, but there’s PLENTY of warning. You can’t miss the warning. How long is the conference on for? Is it the book show? With all the good deals and free stuff at the convention centre! I totally want to visit you there! (And, my other scholastic buddies!)

  13. I am sure you felt like crap after a shower. Though it would be a good excuse for a meeting of you, your husband, no clothes and aloe

  14. I had sunstroke SO bad last summer that I thought I was going to die. Same day that I had a tick bite. I ended up at my doctor’s office passing out on her examination table while she freaked out – it was pretty funny, in retrospect.
