May 24 10

You’ll have to excuse me. I’m in some sort of post-LOST, post-birthday cupcakes, cake and cookie sugar coma.

(In a good way)

I am also in some sort of un-coffeed daze.

(In a bad way)

You see, there are three gallons of milk in our house right now…one that expired on May 20th, one that expired on May 20th and one that expired on April 20th (how is this still around) and because I’m a stickler for that magical date, there’s no way I am going to use it. So, now here’s the rub. Do I get Isabella and myself dressed to go out and pick up milk for the pot of coffee I just brewed…or do we hit up the Starbucks drive-thru and not even have to get out of our jammies?

(It seems the answer is clear)

Now I just need some motivation to get off of my behind. Because it’s so much easier to sit and argue with Isabella over whether or not we are going to watch Codename: Kids Next Door and giggle every time they call the poor kid “Number 2” or start watching LOST again from the beginning. She is most likely going to win this battle because, well, she’s four and, dude, she’s loud. Also, I haven’t had coffee yet, so loud doesn’t really sit all that well with me. Also, we’ll have to discuss how bad Indiana’s tongue smells (“No, Mommy, it’s gross. Like, really, really, really gross.”) and how it feels when you break your arm and how many different kinds of cheeses there are.

Codename: Kids Next Door IT IS.

I didn’t get my day or my camera for my birthday, but I did get to sleep in until 8 and I did get to spend the day with my kids and my brother and my sister in law and their kids in Nashville and we took them to see Shrek and watched them jump on the trampoline and we ate Chinese food and played Settles of Catan while drinking vanilla vodka and coke zero. So, no, it wasn’t THE DAY I had wanted.

But it was a day that made me smile.

A day that made me laugh.

It was a day that made me sigh.

It was a day that I will miss when we move.

And, for the record, until I get my thoughts up on Juice once the statute of spoiler limitations has passed and my brain has kind of stopped spinning and exploding, I will leave you with this…

and NOW….coffee.

And maybe some more cake.

  1. Fun pictures! I love the bw shot on the trampoline – there is something about the bw clouds that gives the background such an ominous feeling. What a fun combo with the pure glee I’m sure she’s having bouncing up and down.

    Cheers,
    Anne

  2. I kind of want a trampoline at my house.

Also, the more I think about Lost, the madder I get.

  3. Love the B&W on the trampoline, so different from the one in color.

So while you’re at sbx, you should also get a large glass of milk to go, then you can have both.

    Happy birthday one day late!

  4. Kristabella… interestingly, the more I think about the LOST ending, the most I am happy with it!

  5. I think the LOST finale answered almost all the questions I had. You must email me so we can discuss!

Happy belated birthday – vanilla vodka and Coke Zero sounds like the best time ever!

  6. I don’t think not drinking milk that old is a “stickler”. That’s, like, normal and SANE and stuff.

  7. I love milk but I stop drinking it the day BEFORE the expiration date. To be safe.

    Loving the photos, you.

  8. I just finished my lost post and it was very therapeutic, can’t wait to read your thoughts!

  9. Did you know that organic milk lasts almost forever? I bought some yesterday with an expiration date of 7/24! I don’t know why that is, but it works for us.

    Happy belated birthday!
