i am so happy that we came to New York.
(Emily is fine, by the way. she’s been puke free since 9 am yesterday. and no one else – knock wood – has gotten it. so, it may not have been stomach flu. Isabella DOES have pink eye…but that doesn’t stress me)
we had just about one of the best days i’ve ever had. seriously. we slept in until 11. yes, you read that right. 11. then we went to Starbucks with Meira and her adorable baby girl, Niva. then we met the husband’s cousin at Nobu for lunch.
and i ate raw fish.
could you just die? i ate fish! raw fish! for the first time. and i freakin’ liked it. the husband is promising to make good on his promise to reward me for trying it (he said no to the iMac…but i’m thinking a new 80gb ipod might be in order…). jalapeno yellowtail and toro tartar. crazy. i’m still feeling proud of myself!
then we went to wait in line for stand-by tickets at Letterman. we were 2 and 3. and they let 6 people in. it was AMAZING. David Letterman was hilarious. The guests were awesome. Harry Shearer (who does voices on The Simpsons), Vera something-or-other (who was in Breaking and Entering with Jude Law…the movie we saw at the Film Festival…so we knew the movie) and Mat Kearney, who i LOVE.
then we picked up dinner and took it back to the hotel (mmm…fire slammers….). now we’re waiting for my sister to make it back to the city and we’re meeting her for drinks. and then my parents arrive.
anyway, must run. mwah. misses from the big apple!!
