  1. My Picks
    ========

    Best Movie – Drama
Didn’t see any of them.. but based on the titles I’ll vote for Hotel Rwanda – seeing as it is about a hotel there is some chance that there is some sexual content in the movie. Can’t say the same for any of the other titles…

    Best Actor – Movie (Drama)
Liam Neeson – come on. the dude was in star wars!

    Best Actress – Movie (Drama)
Uma Thurman – She kicked a$$ in kill bill. Uma. Oprah. Uma. Oprah.

    Best Movie (Musical or Comedy)
Once again – didn’t see any of them. But Incredibles is a cartoon. Cartoons are cool.

Best Actor – Movie (Musical or Comedy)
ooo… a tough one. Again, saw none of the flicks… but Ace Ventura VS Kayzer Soze VS Otto West (K..k..k..ken I’m c..c..c..coming to k..k..k..kill you!)
hmm… Kevin Spacey it is. By a hair.

Best Actress – Movie (Musical or Comedy)
Kate Winslet – she survived the sinking of the titanic. Props.

    Best Supporting Actor – Movie
David Carradine was a close 2nd. After all – he was Bill – who was killed. But I’ll have to give the nod to Morgan Freemon. Keeping with tradition, I did not see the movie. But Morgan did get a poster of Rita Hayworth and that’s not an easy thing to do when you’re in the big house.

    Best Supporting Actress – Movie
    Natalie Portman – no contest*

    * – see Liam Neeson

    Best Foreign Language Film
The Chorus (Les Choristes) – french. umm. no.
The Motorcycle Diaries – homo-erotic thriller?
The Sea Inside – makes me wanna pee.
A Very Long Engagement – if you think the engagement seems long – wait until you try marriage!
House Of Flying Daggers – gets my vote – the chinese have a way with daggers. Oh. and, no – I didn’t see it.

    Best Director
    who cares?

    Screenplay – Movie
    ditto.

    Original Score – Movie
    same.

    Original Song – Movie
Accidentally In Love, Shrek 2 – anything that can get my kid to shut up when he’s awake in my bed at 2:30 in the morning gets my vote for Original Song, Nobel Peace Laureate & Presdient.

    Best TV Series (Drama)
The Sopranos – was it even on this calendar year? Eff it – who cares. Deserves it anyway.

    Best Actor – TV (Drama)
    Ugh. Yawn.

    Best Actress – TV (Drama)
Edie Falco, The Sopranos – don’t mess with the bosses wife. Even if she is estranged.

Best TV Series (Comedy Or Musical)
I know everyone is going to want to give it to Sex (cry. sniffle. I can’t believe it’s off the air.) but I’ll have to go with Will and Grace(which should be renamed Karen and Jack). Props to Desperate Housewives which is a good show but needs to prove itself over the long haul.

Best Actor – TV (Comedy Or Musical)
Puh-lease. Show me some real actors…

Best Actress – TV (Comedy or Musical)
Come on. You know they’re gonna give it to SJP for sentimental purposes. Besides – they put her up against 3 newbies and a best supporting actress (see Karen & Jack)

Best Supporting Actor – TV (Mini-Series or TV Movie)
Now we’re talking! Sean Hayes, Will & Grace!
Rrrring! Hello? Yes. Oh. Yes. Sorry. Sorry sir. Yes. Right away sir. Gulp.
My mistake the award goes to Michael Imperioli, The Sopranos.

Best Supporting Actress – TV (Mini-Series or TV Movie)
Drea De Matteo, The Sopranos of course (looks nervously over shoulder)

  2. Oh boy Giblet. I can tell you didn’t see the trailer for “Hotel Rwanda”. When you think of Rwanda, do you think of steamy sex scenes? Or do you think of genocide? I’ll give you one guess as to what the movie is about. 🙁 (and it ain’t sex)

But it does look like a fantastic movie.

Best actress – Nicole Kidman?! Are they nuts? I guess I’m far too conservative, because it really bothers me that Kidman was nominated for a role where she has a budding relationship with her reincarnated husband – who shows up as a 10 year old boy! Look at it this way, if a male actor starred in a movie where he had a relationship with a 10 year old girl – no matter what the plot was – he’d be reviled as a pedophile. Ugh.

Best movie – definitely “The Incredibles”.

Best actor – Jamie Foxx for “Ray” (I haven’t seen the other movies, but cripes he was incredible in this film)

  3. ha! laughing my hiney off at Hotel Rwanda. good one, Giblet….sexual content…

it’s time to start seeing some movies….we’ve got until January 16th to see: The Aviator, Closer, Finding Neverland, Hotel Rwanda, Kinsey, Million Dollar Baby, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, The Incredibles, Ray, and Sideways.

We can skip Phantom of the Opera, since it’s getting panned all over the place. duh…doesn’t anyone remember the movie versions of Evita and Les Miserables. bad news people.
