things i have learned this week…

the girl behind the screen

11 Apr

…sometimes i act all lemming-ish. since i wasn’t the first one to do this. she did it. so did she. and her too.

…it helps to buy and have an umbrella before the torrential rainstorm.  (i’m. so. wet. right. now.)

…i cannot say no.

…the first signs of spring are wonderful for the soul, but terrible for the wardrobe.

…it’s sad when the hardest parts of your day are putting your bra on and putting your contacts in. bloody tendinitis.

…James eating a bat is hilarious.

…explaining to sweatpantsmom that James is, in fact, on Survivor and not my son is more hilarious.

…standing in Shopper’s Drug Mart, trying to decide if you should buy the zantac or the pregnancy test is an interesting pickle. (mmm…pickle) and it’s probably a good idea not to share this news with your husband. while he’s at work. in a meeting. and it’s even better not to follow up with an email saying that you really want to eat a hot dog…even though you can’t remember the last time you had one.

…it’s also best to tell your readers that you bought the zantac. and you are not pregnant. BLESS YOU, MIRENA!

…i am a creature of habit and will continue to frequent Tim Horton’s every morning even though i’ve won jack shit from the roll up the rim to win contest

…puppetry of the penis is hilarious.

…the Heffalump movie gets really old, really fast. how come toddlers can’t figure that out??…there’s no shame in pulling out the old school new kids on the block. well, there’s not too much shame in it.

what have you learned this week??

I learned that if you wait until 3 weeks AFTER Easter to buy Easter flowers, that the flower stand people don’t want them anymore and you can get them for $2.50 each, NO MATTER HOW BIG THE POT IS, and thus how many bulbs are in them.

I’ve re-learned that it sucks living in a cold climate and I’m glad I live in the ATL.

I’ve also learned that a 3 year old only want to ski for 10 minutes, even though it takes 30 minutes to get all dressed up.

well i learned that you still worry big time the first time your child has a first time experience.even when said child is 17 and going to his first house party.is it wrong to tell your 17 year old to phone and give you the phone number when he gets there?or to tell him that if he drinks stupid stuff will he do? or that if he drinks alcohol that he will feel sick tomorrow and you won’t feel sorry for him?
