November 1 06

yesterday i was a stay-at-home mom. and you know what? i loved it. i love my job. i love going to work every day. i love bringing home the pay check. i love having my name in print. published. i’m a published author.

but i have to say, i loved staying home yesterday. i loved spending the day with my daughter. i loved shlepping her in and out of the car. i loved taking her to walmart where she hammed it up for the ladies in the line-up. i loved wearing a sweatshirt and my lululemons and not a skirt and heels. Sure, i was exhausted by the time the husband came home at 6. but i’m afraid i could get used to that…shh…just don’t tell my husband.

well…i’ve been searching all morning. through my old emails. through my old comments. i can’t find it anywhere. i know someone out there told me that i could rotate my .flv file 90 degrees. but i can’t figure it out. so, i’m going to post my video. and annoy the crap out of all of you…because it’s so freakin adorable that i can’t resist.

this is my daughter on Dora. have you ever seen a happier child?

AND the best part of the day was…that wonder of wonder, without any warning…Isabella slept until 6:30 this morning!!! yay! i mean, sure, 6:30 is early. it’s too early. but it’s better than waking up at 2:45. i’ll take it any day. it’s amazing how much better you feel after getting a full night’s sleep!

  3. Ali! If your child sleeps well…never tell anybody! You can’t say it out loud, or even, in my experience, write it.
We’ll pretend you didn’t say anything, k? You know for next time. I just hope it’s not too late.

  5. hi-5 is great the first 5 times…then it just gets way, way too repetitive!

  6. that’s so sweet! i love the random days i get to stay home with blake too.. or volunteer in his class. i think it’s partly because i don’t get to do it often, so i really value it, you know?

that said, if i had to stay home with him all day, everyday, i’d kill him. lol

  7. Our daughters do the same shoulder shake dance! We could get them together for some choreography.

  9. Ouch. My neck hurts from watching that video. But, it was SOOOOOO worth it. CUTENESS! HOLY!

I know…I love being a stay-at-home mom. Wish you were, too. Turn yourself into one so we can “work” together again!!!! 😉 I’d love it.

  11. That video is too cute – Miss M lurvvess her Dora and carts both her talking doll and her lifesized, huge one around all the time. :)))

  12. Hi, am Margo’s mom and had to tell you your kid is fan-freaking-tabulous in that video. Is she dancing, honest? Anyway, what Margo said is absolutely correct. Her s-i-l lied to her for months about her niece, H.H., who slept through the night soon after birth and continues to rack like the best of them, K’H 9 months later.

  13. cuteness incarnate…..

Scrolling down to the bubble photo? My Little girl would wear the same thing to bed and then to JK. I just gave up, some battles are not worth it….you are wise.

  14. That is adorable! Love the shoulder-shake! My girls are still crazy about Dora, but are now loving Hi-5 as well. They go NUTS! Kids….lol.

  15. I’m LOVING being a SAHM today too – and it’s because I was a WOHM Monday-Wednesday! Seriously, it feels SO GOOD not to have that desperate-to-escape sensation that usually characterizes my parenting.

My kids love Hi-5, and I rank the show slightly below nails-on-a-chalkboard in the makes-me-want-to-run-from-the-room-screaming category.
