A few weeks ago, I boarded a flight from Toronto to Charlotte, the first—and longer—leg on my solo journey to Nashville. The flight filled up, the already frazzled flight crew forced those in boarding zone 3 to start gate checking their bags (no one loves when that happens). Finally, they closed the doors and I looked at the seat beside me.

Oh yes, that’s right. M.T. One lovely little empty seat on the airplane and it was right next to me. Seriously that was the best feeling. Or at least one of them. Possibly the fifth, thinks my friend Aeron.

Obviously, this got me thinking.

What ARE the best feelings in the world?

For me, in no particular order, they are:

Crawling into bed at the end of the day.

Finally getting your sports bra off.

Knowing you just got THE shot during your photo shoot.

Sniffing a newborn baby.

Getting a text you’ve been expecting.

When the right boy smiles at you.

Unexpected naps.

No cavities!

Finding money in a pocket.

Discovering that someone else filled up your gas tank.

Remembering a password on the first try.

Heartfriends.

Finishing a really good book.

Listening to great song on repeat.

Towels just out of the dryer.

A stranger paying for your coffee.

Paying for a stranger’s coffee.

And

Paying it forward. Like, my most recent Win-win-win, of course, with AIR MILES and their Better Bonus Event.
