I will admit it, I am NOT a morning person. I need an alarm to wake up, because without one, I could easily sleep until noon. By alarm, of course, what I mean is…three children and a dog. Without fail, I am woken every morning to the tune of “I WANT TO WATCH SPONGEBOB!” or “COME AND WIPE ME” or “I AM STAAAAAARVING” or a lovely little bark out of my in-need-of-the-bathroom shih-tzu. So, on most days, I serve breakfast to my kiddies in a sleepy daze, still wearing my pjs.
While I am not a morning person, somehow I birthed three morning people. Similarly, while I am not a huge breakfast (during the normal breakfast time) person, somehow I birthed three huge breakfast people. It’s easy and the kids like it.
On the weekends, though, I try to expand our breakfast horizons. I try to either take them out for breakfast to one of our favorite breakfast places…or take them somewhere completely new. Or we’ll pick up coffee and donuts for a special treat. Or we’ll have friends over for a bagels and cream cheese and cinnamon bun pajama party.
Because even though their mother isn’t a breakfast person, these three sure are:
