April 25 11

The girls are hams by nature. Any time they do anything, it is accompanied by a “Mama, take my picture!” I’m not really even exaggerating here. “Look! I’m dancing! Mama, take my picture!” “Look, I’m getting my hair cut! Mama, take my picture!” “Look, I’m clipping my toenails…Mama, make sure you photograph this; it’s super important.” They know how to flash an instant smile wherever and whenever I ask for it. My son, on the other hand, has exactly two modes when it comes to the lens being shoved in his face: A) The Constipated Face and B) The Scary Joker Clown Face.

But Mommy, I don’t know how to smile.

But Mommy, I DO need to wear my Clark Kent glasses that used to be my Rio 3D glasses, you know, before I popped the lenses out.

But Mommy, I’m SUPER bored.

But Mommy, I don’t think you are funny. I have nothing to smile about.

But Mommy, I don’t know where to look.

But Mommy, I can’t sit here any longer!

But Mommy, I need to pee.

But Mommy, can’t you just make the girls do this???

But Mommy, this is the worst punishment in the world.

Actually, now that I think about it…

It might just be THE BEST PUNISHMENT IN THE WORLD. Hee.

  4. Maybe it’s a boy thing… my son has ZERO interest in posing for a photo, while my daughter practically pleads for paparazzi.

  9. It MUST be a dude thing. My brother and I had the same dynamic as kids, and now I have a husband who refuses to smile in pictures. At least you managed to get some pretty cute pictures out of the ordeal!

  10. Man, but they do love to take home those Real 3D glasses, don’t they? We must have ten pair in the toybox.

    Great shots of your son!

  11. I know as a Mom, those are not your favorite pictures of him, because he has such a wonderful smile but Ali? The personality in those shots is worth all the irritation. I love them. And the glasses are awesome!
