horror movie morning and horror dress evening

In an effort to  save our marriage* go green…the husband installed these fancy light switches…that turn off after a certain amount of time…

* it did, in fact, save our marriage. because I, am a chronic lighter leaver-on and he, well, he is not.

anyway, there’s nothing quite like taking a shower in the morning and having the light turn off on you…so there you are, in the pitch black, in the shower. it’s like i was in a really awful horror movie…you know the kind that would have Paris Hilton it…and the crazy angry madman with some sort of weapon has shut all the power off…

anyway…i see that not too many of you have entered my 27 Dresses contest. Just FYI, you don’t have to be Canadian, or a mom. heck, you don’t even need to be female. So, in an effort to convince you to come on out of the woodwork and post a picture, or tell a story (it doesn’t even have to be your own story)…i’m going to post mine. the two weddings in which i walked down the aisle.

these first two shots are from my sister’s wedding. my god, how beautiful is she? anyway…i was 5 months pregnant and looked rather whale-ish, but still had to stuff my arse into a dress. it wasn’t maternity…we just ordered it two sizes up. friends, you are all lucky those shots are in black and white.

these are from my sister-in-law Adina’s wedding…it’s hard to get a good look at the dress..and it was lovely, it really was. pretty much exactly what i had wanted…except for those sleeves. hello linebacker!

so, now it’s your turn! head on over to Juice and dish.

and you can still help me choose some boots…Emily and i are going to choose a winner this evening and post it tomorrow morning ;)

You can post a comment, or trackback from your site.

I’ve only been in two weddings as well and both of the dresses weren’t too bad. I’ll try to dig the pictures out and scan them in :)

I WANT those light-switches!!!

I posted a story, but since a) it doesn’t involve me wearing a dress and b) I wasn’t the bridesmaid in question, I don’t know if I count.

Showering with the lights off IS BRUTAL! I’d love to get those light switches, but…30 mins tops? He should go for some dimmers…. That’s what we have.

Okay, you convinced me to enter. That phone looks AWESOME.

Cool light switches. And I still know nothing about boots.

I’m looking for a pic from my sisters wedding…
from 1990. I could win this contest.
The dresses were hideous.
taffeta
velvet
…CRINOLIN!

Can you believe I have never been in a wedding other than my own!?! Not even as a flower girl, I think something must be wrong with me. Plus the fact I was one of the first to get married out of my closest friends! There is still time!

I have no photos, but I told everyone about your contest :)

I am so turned on by that lightswitch. me and the huz are going on a date to home depot tonight!

no crazy dress pics or stories…believe, it’s a sweet prize, just can’t partake. :(

And that photo of you and the hubby, 3rd one down, was the first pic I ever saw of you - and I still think you look simply gorgeous! ;)

So, does the lightswitch actually turn off after 30 minutes no matter how long you’re in the room? Or is there an override to it? I think that lightswitch would get my husband hornier than Bridget Moynahan.

I’ve only been in three weddings besides my own. Twice the dresses were not that bad and the third time I was 9 and adorable so…

nice pictures!

That shower thing? Would terrify me. I have shower/face washing fears. When my husband and I first started dating, I actually told him my biggest fear was someone attacking me while I wash my face with my eyes closed and he better never approach me while that is happening. I was not kidding.

So we don’t have the light switches, but we do have the timer power cords that you preset to turn off and on at the same time each day. We have our TV and entertainment electronics hooked up to it, but my DH has them set to turn off at 10. Many a night I have been in the middle of a movie or whatever and the farcking thing turns itself off! BAH!
The computer and printer are also hooked up to one of these fancy cords. That, not a big deal.
