Q1: If you were given 100% control over the casting of a big-budget remake of The Wizard Of Oz, who would you choose to cast in the roles of Dorothy, The Scarecrow, The Cowardly Lion, The Tin Man, The Good Witch of the North, The Wicked Witch of the West, Uncle Henry, Auntie Em, and Toto?

oh my goodness, this is really really hard. okay, here goes: Dorothy – Natalie Portman, scarecrow – Eric Stoltz, lion – Tate Donovan, tin man – Ray Romano, good witch of the north – nicole kidman, wicked witch of the west – Megan Mullaly , uncle henry – Dustin Hoffman, auntie em – Ellen Degeneres, and toto – ?? (note: there’s absolutely 0% logic in my answers, they were just the first people who came to mind.)

Q2: Do you buy bottled water? If so, are you loyal to one particular brand over all others?

i do buy bottled water, but i also drink from the tap. i am not loyal to any specific brand – but i don’t really like aquafina or dasani – they taste too chemically.

Q3: You are next in line in the ’12 items or less’ check out lane at the grocery store, and just as you’re about to lay your 10 items down on the conveyor belt, you notice that the guy behind you in line is holding only one loaf of bread. As a general rule, do you offer one-loaf-man your place in line, or do you continue checking out yourself? What if roles were reversed, and instead of being in an express lane, you find yourself holding only one loaf of bread, and the person in front of you in the checkout lane has a shopping cart crammed full with groceries. Do you ask the person in front of you if you can skip ahead of them, or do you patiently wait your turn?

i would definitely let the person go ahead of me. one item. for sure. if the roles were reversed, i would try to make eye contact with the person and look like i’m in ahurry, and hope for the best. i would NEVER ask. NEVER.

Q4: If fast food had no negative effect on your long- or short-term health, do you think you’d eat more of it than you do now?

i think i’d eat more fast food if it wasn’t so fattening. that, to me, is the biggest force behind why i chose not to eat fast food.

  1. 1: I don’t know.

2: Sometimes. But only because my wife refuses to drink tap water. We have a Brita filter pitcher that we use mostly. I’ll drink tap so long as I can’t see things floating in it.

3: Scenario one – I do not generally offer 1 item guy to go before me. When I was single I might have offered that to 1 item girl (if she was pretty). It’s the express line, he can wait.

Scenario two – If you go to the grocery store and don’t expect to wait in line, you have no business in a grocery store. No, I would never, ever ask to jump in front of that person. If it was the only register open I would wait patiently, unless the person was a total moron and taking way way way too much time to unload their cart and pay, in which case I would ask them to hurry up, people are waiting. Yes, I can be that rude sometimes. But most of the time I would just wait patiently. I mean, where do you need to rush off to with a loaf of bread?

4: No negative health effects? That means I wouldn’t get fat and my arteries wouldn’t clog and kill me! I would eat fast food for every single meal. Every. Single. Meal. I’m drooling just thinking about it. Why do you torture me like this!?!?

  4. 1. dorothy – ashley judd – i can’t think of anyone though who could fill judy garland’s ruby slippers…
    scarecrow – robin williams
    lion – woody allen
tin man – brad pitt – i want at least one nice ass to watch
good witch – (nicole kidman is good… must.get.my.own.idea…)
wicked witch – glenn close (but I think meghan mullaly is a genius idea!!)
    uncle henry – tom hanks
    auntie em – kathy bates

    2. I use that Brita thing as well, but if I do buy water, I tend to buy Poland Spring.

    3. Express Lane – no way. It’s the EXPRESS lane – I obvioulsy won’t take too long…

Regular Lane – I absolutely offer to those behind me and do the eye contact thing but throw in a puppy dog look. I’ve also asked, but it’s rare. One time that sticks out was I went to Costco (you know where you buy in bulk) on my lunch hour to pick up my pictures, that’s all, just the 3 envelopes of pictures. Costco doesn’t have any express lanes and all the stay-at-home moms were there with two kids each shopping carts MAXED OUT with stuff. I asked a woman, if I could PLEASE go ahead of her that this was all I was getting and I was on my lunch break and she said yes as long as the 10 people in line behind her agreed. Luckily for me, they did.

    4. i’d eat in constantly. i’m so addicted to that stuff…
