have you seen this site?? go on, get. i’ll wait. hum de dum. it’s kind of a little bit postsecret, a little bit her bad mother’s basement

it’s fantastic. i even left a little confession on it. shh. don’t tell.

i figured i’d share some wife confessions of my own..at least the ones i’m willing to share.

TrueMomConfessions

i don’t think all babies are cute. in fact, i think most babies and children are entirely uncute. some of my friends’ children included.

i’m a slob.

i lie to my kids about food that i’m eating….that’s it’s “diet” or it’s “spicy”…so i won’t have to share with them. i’m not a good sharer. and once a child has slobbered on something, i can’t continue eating it.

i sometimes sit on the toilet longer than i need to just to get a little break from the whining.

i didn’t enjoy breastfeeing at all. not even for one minute. but i did it for 6 months with each of my children because that’s what i was told was best for them.

i let my kids eat boxed macaroni and cheese and hot dogs. but not at the same time 🙂

TrueMomConfessions

sometimes the love i have for my children hits me so hard that i start to cry. and it scares me that something like the Virginia Tech massacre could happen to them. i want to stick ’em in John Travolta’s plastic bubble and shield them forever.

what about you? any true mom…or dad confessions to share???

Good for you for breastfeeding for 6 months, I’m so sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy it though. Your kids are so lucky to have such a loving and caring Mom!

  6. Well, I am not a Mum but when my niece wants something I am eating I tell her it’s “adult food” and I think most newborn babies are kinda… funny looking.

  12. sometimes when my toddler won’t go to bed i swear at her in my head and i use the F word a lot.
sometimes i make sandwiches for supper.and sometimes when they are allbeaking off screeching whining at the same time i tell them to SHUT THE HELL UP YOU BRATS!

  13. Mac and Cheese – you’re such a bad mom 🙂
Just kidding. It’s a staple in our house (with hotdogs sometimes).
My confession – in order to get my son to wear his hat I told him that if his ears get too cold they will fall off. He is now terrified of his ears falling off. I feel horrible about it, but at the same time whenever he says it I crack up.

  15. i’ve done the food thing with kids i used to nanny for: “no, it’s yucky, you won’t like it.”

my confession? and this actually is a big one for me: i’ve watched my older sister around little kids and thought, “i’m going to be such a better mom than you.” i feel awful about it, but i’ve definitely had it. 🙁

  16. Love it!
I lie to my child (a lot). Usually about how Sonic ran out of milkshakes or the DVD player is broke.

And once when he had a REALLy bad haircut & we were going out to eat with some friends, I told him it was NATIONAL HAT DAY…and he had to wear a hat!

  17. ok, I eat the hot dogs and boxed macaroni togeter, at least in the same meal. And you don’t need a kid to be crying over Va Tech.

    hmm a hubby excuse…
I tell the wife that I have started the laundry, though I do not actually start it before 5:30 or so, because I know that she will be so tired, she will not bother to fold more then one load anyway

  21. I saw this earlier in the week and was going to blog about it tomorrow. It’s terribly addictive!

Boxed macaroni and hot dogs are among the *healthier* things my kids eat.

Comment by DaniGirl on April 19, 2007
  22. *boxed* mac and cheese??
hell no!! I feed my kids EasyMac.

I sometimes say I’m going to the gym, but actually go to the Superstore instead…walking around in my Lululemons and running shoes.

I sometimes eat the better treats in my kids loot bags, convincing myself that it’s better for them to NOT eat it.

I curse in front of the kids too much. Cam knows they are “highschool words”

  24. uh some moms don’t do that stuff?
as long as you cut the hotdogs so they don’t choke its all good.

My kid would not take a bottle until she was nine months. I cannot even find the words to express how bitter I was. Breastfeeding is not something I have fond memories of. I feel good that I did it but I pretty much hated every minute.
