so…Isabella has two:

yes folks, she’s domesticated! she can use the phone! (each time we ask her who she’s calling, it’s always the same: “Dora!” of course, we should have known.) she can take her baby for walks! Can you even see how happy this child is? who knew all it would take was for her to have a stroller of her own??!!

(anyone want to guess what’s playing on the tv behind her? there will be prizes for right answers. also, i will be impressed)

Emily and Joshie have one:

the kids have started playing together. i don’t know if maybe Joshie’s getting older or if they are starting to realize that even though one is a boy and one is a girl, they can still appreciate the same things. like diarrhea humor. seriously. yesterday, they were playing “Superhero” (a staple in our neck of the woods) and joshie was fireman. he could set things on fire. then he decided it was bows and arrows coming out of his butt. and then he decided he’d become the greatest superhero of them all, Diarrhea Man. the two of them were in stitches for a good hour over that one. we are so proud.

anyway, on to their mutual obsession. Star Wars. They’ve watched 1,2 and 3. Emily likes number 2 the best (ha…she would have appreciated the toilet humor in that one) – because of the love story. Joshie likes number 3 the best because “dat’s the one whe-ah Annkin goes in the dawth vadeh machine!”

it’s actually quite adorable. and it couldn’t make the husband happier. ha! especially when Emily asks things like, “is there an Obi-two?”

and now I have one:

who knew dessert could be this much fun?

we went out for Ilana’s 25th birthday (she’s not really 25, but i will NOt disclose how old she is. and she looks 25. so, that’s about right.)

(i can’t decide what’s funnier about this….that they aren’t manly enough to eat their own desserts or that they are both wearing Abercrombie shirts)

as for me? i ate the whole thing! no one believed that i could, but people underestimate me.

last bite! (i won’t tell you that this morning i feel like ass and i never want to eat anything ever again. but it was delicious going in. i promise. and i’m sure it won’t be the last time i eat a dessert that big.)

  1. Isabella: Too cute for words and guess what? Miranda has the EXACT same stroller ROFLMAO – except the strap on hers is broken (I actually bought it for Toby when he was going through his ‘girl toy’ stage). My daughter is a total alpha XY – loves hats, jewellery, watching me do my face, playing with her babies, SHOES..

Emily & Joshua: And I thought I was the ONLY mommy in the world with kids who talk about bottom antics, sigh…good to not feel so alone LOL.

Dinner looks like fun, gee I miss North-American style restaurants here!

  3. LOL – Obi Two?

I’m still waiting for the “it’s too violent” warning light to go off to show my daughter Star Wars…

  4. I love going out to eat but don’t have much self control. It tastes so good but then I’m stuck sleeping on my side from the hurt.

  8. Your kids are adorable!! And they can totally live in our house. My hubbie is also a Star Wars fan and not only that our 6 and 3 y/o’s are addicted to it too, but our 18 months old daughter can now hold the lightsaber and does that “whoosh whoosh” noise thing. I guess she’ll be Princess Leia for Halloween.

  11. I think it’s Julia Child on the TV.

My friend’s little girl (about the same age) actually CALLED ME the other day. Apparently she was playing with her favorite toy and discovered the “redial” button. So my friend was very confused when I called her back a few minutes later saying, “Sorry I couldn’t pick up when you called.”

  12. I’ve been thinking about gettiing the baby (or maybe not so much a baby anymore ;( o-well) a stroller for her baby doll this Christmas. Thanks for the picture of a happy sweetie pie to make up my mind!

  13. Mia got hooked on phones a while ago. I mean, totally obsessed. And now she’s digging her little stroller. SO cute to watch her cart her dolls around talking on the phone…

  14. Just meandered onto your site from “Major Bedhead.” Your Emily is completely adorable, and I’m still smiling at the idea of an “Obi-Two”. (Makes perfect sense to me.)

Nice blog you’ve got here. I’m looking forward to reading more. 🙂

  16. I can’t believe bloglines made me miss this. This! This too adorable post! Love all these obsessions. They’re fadorable. Isabella and the stroller — I can’t take it. Bella and the phone? a familiar scene in our house. The monkey pretends to talk in her gibberish way and it’s TOO MUCH!

I’m so happy to hear Joshie and Emily have found each other! That’s fantastic. And, yes, you must be so proud of their superpowers! Ha!

And, what a glamourous picture of you eating! LOVES IT! 😉 Your hubby and his friend (and you of course) should have joined us at our Thanksgiving party, they would have fit right in with the identical-shirts guys there! 😉

  17. […] i started yesterday instead of today. the willpower was at its finest. we went out for dessert with our friends – to THE place (scroll down…it’s there. oh, it’s there….mmm…waffles) and i just had COFFEE. coffee. that’s all. and i wasn’t even tempted. i’m sure it’s only because it was day 1. come back to me in a week and i’ll probably be dying for sugar. i’ll probably sell you my first born for some carbs.
