y’all remember my finger-boot-wearing, ball-popping-toy loving, all-food-eating, Dora-obsessed, bald-headed baby?

Well, she went to the doctor for her 15-month check-up, erm, yes, a little late…since we forgot to go to the first appointment…

(side note: why don’t prediatricians call you to let you know that you have an appointment coming up? my OB calls, my family doctor calls, my eye doctor calls, hell, even my hairdresser calls!! it would be incredibly helpful and certainly in their best interest…because surely i can’t be the only mother who has forgotten about an appointment she mafde months before? right?)

anyway, my little porker is now 23.5 pounds and 31 inches (i think!) which puts her at 70% for both height and weight.  our little Bellezilla. she’s going to overtake Emily and Joshie sooner than we’d thought (since Josh’s not yet 30 pounds and Emily weighs a whopping 31!).

Since my older two were chicken-y as babies, both riding the curve at 15% for weight their entire lives, i prayed this time around for a FAT baby. i wanted a baby with giant rolls for legs and chubby feet and arms and i wanted that bracelet-effect that babies get on their wrists. i wanted to smoosh a baby and bounce back.

well…my prayers were answered. Isabella is deliciously round. She’s got wonderful rolls and a tubby little pillsbury dough boy-ish tummy. i can already see that she’s started to lose it. in her arms, her thighs, her face…she’s thinning out. it’s all the walking. and the dancing. (note to self…take up Dora dancing…). but i sure am loving it while it’s here!

  1. Nice stats lady!
Keep up the good work. hee hee…My 3 year old is just pushing 30lbs now at 3 and a half feet. She’s just like her dad.

  2. I totally understand! My 2-1/2 year old is not quite 24 pounds. My 4-1/2 year old is also small. But Charlie? Weighs in at a healthy 17 pounds! He is the same weight at six months that both of my other girls were at a year.

I have to say, I kind of like the chubby baby look! 🙂

  3. Ah, fat babies. Gotta love ’em. Good work, mom! My toddler, at NINETEEN MONTHS has finally cracked the 20 pound mark and can finally face forward in her carseat. 🙁

  4. Oh, I love chubby babies! Oliver’s much huskier than Julia was and I love to nibble on his chunky thighs.

  5. I had two very fat babies (both were 20 lbs at 3 months). Now my 6 year old weighs 67 lbs. My (nearly) 10 year old weighs less than that.

  6. I don’t have a single doctor here that reminds me to make an appointment. In New York, I always remember receiving a post card from my dentist or doctor reminding me that it was time for my check-up. Maybe that is the difference between socialized medicine and paying for health care. If you don’t go to the doc in the states, they don’t get paid!

  7. Cam was a very lean baby. I got mu buddha boy in Cuyler. He was 23pounds at 8mos.
Funny enough they both weigh 38pounds now.
It’s getting tough to do the 5 pt harness up with their winter jackets…
    Three kids in 5pt harnesses.
    Two in diapers.
    Can’t wait for January!

  8. Awwww, you got yourself a chunky monkey and she’s SO cute!! And I agree, pediatrician’s ESPECIALLY should do call reminders. Hello? It’s a child’s appointment and aren’t they most important? Larrys.

  9. Both of my kids are big relative to your #1 and #2 but at 5’11” myself and the hubby at 6’4″ that is no surprise! However, my son weighed at 18months what my daughter weighed at 3.5!! He was so deliciously chubby! Now at 7 he is tall and, yes, SKINNY! He is 97% for height and 50% for weight. My daughter is 75% for height and 50% for weight but she weighs about 5lbs more than Emily and she is not even 4!

  10. I’ve forgotten, too-you are not alone!

She sounds like a lovely little butterball!

  11. You’ll just have to have another porker, then – since Bella’s slimming down, and all! 😉

The monkey’s a porker, too — loving the Buddah belly — it’s getting bigger still…since she’s not walking yet! 🙂 And, she still has her puffy cheeks. LOVE!!!

  12. Cakes has always been off the charts. She weighed 26 pounds at 15 months. But we just had her 18 month and she is holding at 28 pounds.

  14. All my babies were chubby…….but my second one, we called him Budda Baby. Before this kid could sit up on his own, we could actually prop him up on his own fat. He ended up being my skinny kid!
