I have disappeared, some of you may have noticed. And if you haven’t noticed, then that totally makes you an asshole. OR you have also disappeared because you also have been swallowed by the family and friends annual holiday vortex in which case I will forgive you fully and completely and I might even buy you a drink next week. A stiff one.

I have disappeared, some of you may have noticed. Like Metalia, who emailed me today to make sure I was alive.

I have disappeared, some of you may have noticed. And *may* have faked a stomach ache to get some time alone with my iphone and my internet.

Not that I am complaining. Really, I am not.  We are doing lots of hanging out and smiling and playing ridiculously fun games of phase 10 and Blast from the Past and even though I totally couldn’t answer the questions I should have known the answers to (MY GOD THE FIRST SPACE SHUTTLE WAS COLUMBIA), I did, however, pull a Tracey Ullman answer out of my asscrack and something ridiculously random about Gianni Versace that totally won the game for the girls. I’m just saying. I am surrounded by my brother and my sister in law and their three bunnies. And my bffs who came all the way from Toronto (YAY! the besties are here! the besties are here!) and their three bunnies. And my poor son is surrounded by only girls. 8 of them. EIGHT. and yet he still hasn’t lost his sense of humor…

Josh: Wow! GreatGrandma has LOTS of clothes! She needs the wonder hanger!” ba dum dum.

It’s really so great and I’m finally doing all the tourista whatnot that we have been pushing off. The kids have been begging to see the aquarium since, um, 2005. No really. 2005. That was the last time we were there.

back when Isabella had a big ole melon head and the husband was highlighting his hair like he was in O-Town or some shit like that (secret: I liked it!) and back when I wore belts. BELTS. and back when Emily smiled and didn’t go all Bershon on me

oh. Emily.

BUT! We did get an almost decent family picture. almost.

and what I also got was a picture that I haven’t been able to stop looking at all evening.

To the naked eye, this picture is just a picture of two little girls standing in front of some fish. But, the thing is, that these two little girls, who are the best of friends, who got to reunite this week for the first time since July, bear a striking resemblance to two other girls, who are also the best of friends, who also got to reunite this week for the first time since July.

This picture could be US.

Tomorrow, the tourism continues. Coke Museum FTW!

I am surrounded by my brother and my sister in law and their three bunnies. And my bffs who came all the way from Toronto and their three bunnies.

  2. The likeness is uncanny.

I’ve noticed that you disappeared, but figured your family was on top of you at all times.

  3. YOU MADE ME CRY.

  4. I took my iTouch to the bathroom with me today (and I liked it!) to get a moment away from the kids and the husband and the OMG constant noise of the Wii. It’s like nobody wants to read a book around here (which I am also willing to take into the bathroom with me as long as I get one moment of quiet!).

  9. Christmas/Chrismukah never seems to be the holiday it is made out to be…busier than normal seem to be the norm. I giggled when I saw your tweet.
BTW, love that aquarium! Made hubby stop for a few days in Atlanta on our roadtrip this summer just so I could go. So worth it!

  10. I sincerely hope the Coke museum has hookers where you snort off their bums. Except I know this is a family vacation and I’ll be all disappointed and shit.

  11. I missed you! But I figured you were busy! So glad you got some time with the besties!

Also, I think that’s a pretty good family photo! Everyone can see that Gabe does in fact exist! 🙂
