If there’s ONE thing my family knows, it’s pancakes.
Mickey Mouse shaped ones. Silver dollar ones. Pancakes with sprinkles. Flower shaped ones. Pancakes with strawberry eyes and blueberry mouths. Chocolate chip pancakes. Cinnamon pancakes. Pancakes with syrup. Pancakes with butter.

So, one night while watching something I am sure was super educational, I saw a commercial for THIS:

And it had to be mine. HAD TO.

I made amazing pancakes, but here was my chance to make THE PERFECT PANCAKES. I mean, infomercials are always right, right? So, of course, I bought it.
And do you want to take a guess how it ended?

JUST GUESS.

It didn’t work.

Not even one bit. Not only did it not make the perfect pancakes, it pretty much made completely inedible pancakes. my kids completely rejected them. The perfect pancake machine went straight into the garbage. And I went back to making my regular old amazing pancakes.

That is, of course, until I saw the infomercial for THOSE FILLED PANCAKES OMG.

I totally have to have that.

  1. Yes, I bought Ginsu knives and a George Foreman grill after seeing them on TV. I’ve also bought tons of exercise videos from infomercials. I still use the Ginsu knives!

  2. I bought an upside-down tomato planter. By the time you get all the dirt in it, that sucker is heavy! No tomatoes but it was sure a conversation piece — they all laughed.

  3. You know what I just *had* to have after seeing it on TV? Barbecue ribs from Swiss Chalet. Although.. that’s not quite the same thing. We also have a Super Gym Gold (or something like that) that’s collecting dust in a corner somewhere.

Comment by Jessica on October 12, 2010
  4. Hahahaha! I can’t believe you bought the Perfect Pancake!

I bought some exercise equipment off the TV. And I bought the George Foreman grill. And I’m sure there are others.

  5. I always want to try out the infomercial stuff, even knowing that they are usually crap. I usually manage to restrain myself, but now they are selling that stuff in stores, and I walk right by them…..Recently I’ve bought the purse organizer thingy.

  6. BUMPITS!!!!! They make it look so easy, my hair is too thin so it totally looks like a hunk of plastic perched on top of my head. Not hot, at all.

  7. I bought Heel Tastic and it really did work. Amazing difference in my dry cracked heels in just one night.

My daughter wanted a Fushigi ball,it just arrived a few days ago so I can’t tell you if it’s awesome yet.

  9. I’ve bought several of them but I try to be very selective and not just get sucked in by the TV ad.

  10. I bought Quick ‘n Brite. I don’t regret it one bit and I’ve been using it for 15 years. It’s the best stuff ever!

We got a George Foreman a few years ago when I had surgery so my husband would stop setting off the smoke alarm with burgers. Another great investment. I didn’t know those were infomercial stuff. We got ours from a department store.

Walgreens seems to be the place to find tv advertised items.

  15. I’m a TOTAL sucker for them, although I usually just watch and don’t buy. However, I did get the Mari Windsor pilates DVD set (which is actually pretty good!), the pancake puff pan (good pancakes, but time consuming!), and the Magic Bullet (LOVE it!) The last two I got from the store, so I didn’t have to pay shipping.

That’s a joke. Surface was nice and unmarked, but a fried egg stuck like super glue. But,it should suffice for my purposes, and cook a veal cutlet without grease splattering everywhere.
