Raise Your Voice For Women Who Raise Theirs {Sponsored}

I’ll be honest for a moment. I don’t really know much about Avril Lavigne.

I mean, fine, I do know one thing. I know that she sings a song called Sk8tr Boi that I know very few of the correct lyrics to, because I have written my own version that I sing—pretty poorly—to Isabella while we are lacing up her skates in the ice rink change rooms.

She’s my sk8tr girl.

My girls, though, they are huge fans of Avril Lavigne.

Huge.

Her songs are frequently downloaded onto ipods around here and get played in our usual rotation and get sung during extra-long shower sessions or on road trips.

But now I know a second thing about her: She’s doing something really awesome.

She has teamed up with Women’s College Hospital Foundation to create a cover song of “Keep Holding On.’

“I am excited to have my fans’ voices join together with mine in support of Women’s College Hospital,” said Lavigne. “The Avril Lavigne Foundation works to help kids, their families and communities feel like rockstars, so we’re proud to be part of this special campaign for the Toronto community.” For more than 100 years, Women’s College Hospital  has been dedicated to groundbreaking advances in health care. Today, this legacy continues.

Yes, let’s keep Toronto in the news for good reasons. And not, you know, about our *cough* mayor *cough*
