“i haven’t seen you in ages!”

“i know. i know.”

“How have you been?????”

“great. really great. but sooooo busy. but it’s all good things. but still, so busy. we totally need to get together soon!”

i have this conversation a lot. too often, to be honest. sadly, though, it’s the truth. i have so much going on right now. Between my actual job, for which i’m currently in grade 7 forensic science and advertising research mode, my side job, Juice, for which i’m currently in talks to be working the red carpet at the upcoming Gemini awards (huzzah!), my other side job, being a McMom, for which i’m currently trying to sum up my two day-stint in Edmonton where i got to work behind the counter at a McDonald’s restaurant

(which, ps, was nothing short of a colossal eye-opener for me, having NEVER worked in an eating establishment. my visor’s off to McDonald’s employees everywhere. i don’t even have the guns to lift the ketchup dispenser properly. heh.)

and see behind-the-scenes at the Cargill Meat plant where ALL McDonald’s hamburgers are made. and to wear the superfancy steel-toed rubber shoes they provided…

(so that’s what these pictures are from. NO, i didn’t quit my day job to work at McDonald’s. i know i confused some of you. well, most of you actually)

my three children, one of which needs to see a specialist for his ear-wax buildup (i so wish i was kidding) (i so wish i didn’t need to take off work this afternoon to take him to see someone to flush out his ears) (gross) (but maybe after this, he’ll stop saying “huh?” so much) (although likely not, knowing my boy)

my random celebrity hook-ups, for which i’ll have you know, i have NO shame. i will totally, like a total tool, walk up to Don Cherry, while he is talking hockey with a group of very cocked-out men and ask to take a picture. or 8. because, i mean, well, it’s Don Cherry. he’s a Canadian institution. (um, yeah, why in the sam hell do i look so pasty? i mean, we’re talking like Edward Cullen pasty) (at least i didn’t look that pasty when i met up with her, who drove a long way to have drinks with me and talk about IUDs and very classy men and totally get lost trying to find the fancy matrix hotel. short, but not pasty. mwah. love her.)

in short, i am busy.

but somehow i still managed to go to a charity art auction last night (where i surprisingly won a painting! and when i say ‘won’ i really mean, had the top bid and now have to pay for….so, it really isn’t winning so much as it is ‘buying’ so last night i bought a painting. heh) and see the new James Bond, which i enjoyed, despite its mixed reviews. what I, however, have mixed reviews about is Daniel Craig. at times, i’m all, mmmmm…Daniel Craig is running.

run, James, run. but then he stops running (*sigh*) and stops using his magical blue eyed jedi tricks and he’s just, well, he’s just not all that hot.

and now i’m off to have my coffee and my vanilla-creme filled dunkin donuts that Jack and Ilana brought me home from Montreal last night. Montreal has Dunkin Donuts. what? who knew? i am so in a world of trouble. because we all know what happened the last time i had the donuts delivered….

  1. It’s a little-known fact that I was originally tabbed to fill the role of Bond in that movie. But I couldn’t fit it into MY busy schedule and now you had to look at Daniel Craig.

    Sorry about that.

  2. well of course DD’s is in Montreal .. has been like forever!

And .. ear wax build up .. my pediatrician told us to put 3% peroxide in his ears ..worked a charm and no more “huh?”. Did you dr. not try this?

What, no picture of the painting you won? um.. bought!

  4. I don’t get the Daniel Craig appeal. People look at me like I’m insane when I say that, but he just doesn’t do it for me.

  5. Mr. A also has excessive earwax. I mean like, I clean his ears 2X a week and more wax comes out of his ears than I have in an entire year. Please tell me what the doctor says.

  6. I am a little sad that there are no Dunkin Donuts on my way to work, if I take public transportation. There is, however, a Starbucks in the lobby. But I’ll be poor if I buy that everyday. At least DD is reasonable with $2 coffee.

And also, I heard Daniel Craig only takes his shirt off once. WTF?

  7. You know what helps with earwax buildup? Hydrogen peroxide. Seriously.

Just rinse out the eye dropper you’ve got for baby medicine and fill with peroxide. Put a couple of drops in one ear, wait for fizzing to subside (a few minutes) then flush with warm water. Repeat on other side. Totally works.

  11. First? First I thought you were lucky because you got to see the inner-workings of McDonald’s (seriously, please, find out why the fries taste like crap lately! For me? Please?), but then you got to hang out with HER?!

    Lucky. Lucky. Lucky!

Daniel Craig just doesn’t do it for me. Neither does Edward Cullen. Where will I be Friday? Home. Unless you wanna come hang out? 🙂

  13. although i have never admitted this on my own site before- I was a McD’s worker for 8.5 years (HS and college job) and was a manager for 6.5 years. It was utter hell most days- so thanks for some props knowing that it’s not exactly the ‘easiest’ job like most think. The hardest part is def dealing with customers.

  19. I am beyond jealous that you got to take a picture with Don Cherry. Did you lick him? I would have.

My little brother had to get his ears flushed when he was about 3 years old. The doctor managed to do one before Nate lost his shit and called the doctor a “stupid idiot.” My brother rocks.

  20. Good luck with the ear appointment! I was told 3, yes 3, years ago to go get mine flushed out and I’ve been terrified. Yes, I’m 27 years old and terrified of a little wax removal. I’m close to caving since I think I’m going deaf and now that I know a 7 year old can handle it.

  21. great post, Leesh! And, Daniel Craig is all that hot — ‘specially as James Bond. HOT! I love him as James Bond, I do….

Love the pic with you and Cherry. I’d totally ask a celeb for a pic, too…. 😉

Glad you had a good time as McDs. I know you represented, and I’m looking forward to your report!

  29. The new James Bond is QUITE dreamy. Not because he is all THAT attractive, but because he jumps off buildings, and beats the CRAP out of people. He doesn’ rely on gadgets like the Bond’s of the past, but on his pure, unadulterated B.A.-ness. And that is why we pine for him.
