okay…. I haven’t searched through all of your archives, but how did you come upon interviewing celebs?
well, this one sort of fell in my lap. I work for a lovely woman named Jen over at Urbanmoms.ca. I used to write a column over there called Fabulous. When the wonderful, cheaty Haley-O decided that she wanted to part ways with urbanmoms and do her own celebrity gossip site, there was a hole to fill at UM. i didn’t want to steal her thunder of course, since i love her and her gossip, so Jen and I came up with our own little Ali-site, and Juice was born. It was something that combined my love of Celebrities and my love of writing and my awesome personality (bwah)
If you could be any celebrity who would u be and why?
How did you choose your children’s names?
to make a long, long story short, Jews, by tradition, name after no-longer-living relatives. when i was pregnant with baby #1, my mom gave me a LONG list of relatives who all died in the holocaust. My grandparents were each from really large families and they lost everyone – aunts, uncles, parents, siblings. the husband and i opted out of naming our children for relatives we didn’t know because we didn’t want to end up with Shternas and Liesels and Haskels and Fayvushes. so, we named Emily for my maternal grandmother, Betty. Her full name is Emily Elizabeth. Josh was named for my maternal grandfather, Aaron. His full name is Aaron Joshua. Isabella was named for my paternal grandfather, Cap’n Lou (as he was affectionately known). this was more roundabout. Her full name is Isabella Rose. but her hebrew name, Nava Leba, was after his Hebrew name, Lev.
How did you go from Georgia to the Midwest and then end up in Canada? How long have you lived in Canada?
my dad and mom divorced when i was 2. my dad lives in Atlanta and my mom lives in the midwest. i spent my childhood springing back and force between the two. and i moved to Canada for the husband. in September i will have lived here 11 years.

Hmm… do you think you could ever be a vegetarian?
i definitely could…and have toyed with it before. i’m picky with my meats (that made me laugh. because i am 12). but since i don’t feel strongly about it ethically, and i do enjoy the meats that i like (mmm..spicy chicken sandwiches)…i don’t think i WILL become one.
If we were to hang out for the day, what would we do? (Kids or no kids)
days with me, without my kids, would probably involve coffee, food, and shopping. sound okay to you? we could also go bowling. 😉
ok, so I’m a little late on this .. but .. How did you lose your weight before your vacation?
um, really i just tried to eat less dessert. i’m a dessert FREAK and i don’t know how to shut my mouth when it comes to it. and i’m glad i didn’t realize that walmart in canada sold Cakesters until after i came home from my trip…mmm…cakesters…
and i tried to eat less white breads and pastas etc.
What’s your favorite coffee sweetener, and when do you think music will swing back to what REALLY rocks….Barry Manilow?
i’m a splenda girl, all the way. my office cafeteria only has the other yellow one, sugar twin, and i’ll use it over regular sugar…but i SO prefer splenda. and, as far as your Barry Manilow question, i will plead the fifth. *sorry*
if you could have a song written for/about you who would the artist group be who would do it?
wow. hmm..i don’t know. Emily Haines, maybe? Damien Rice? not sure. they both have beautiful sounds and i think they could do my song justice.
I’m still living vicariously through your vacation photos… so, what’s been your favorite vacation (location and resort/hotel) and why? If you could go anywhere, where would you go?
my favorite vacation was this one. Sandals Regency in St. Lucia. because i was with my best friends. and i did exactly what i wanted to do – spend a week at the pool tanning, eating, drinking, listening to music and reading. perfection.
as for going anywhere, wow, that’s tough. there are so many places i haven’t been. Italy. England. Ireland. Greece. I’d love to go to Cannes for the film festival.
