so, yesterday i went to see my best friend the tailor. yes, the one who buys me chocolate bars. to, again, get MORE pants shortened. (ps. it would be swell to foronceinmylife actually walk into a store, buy a pair of pants and wear them without having to get them severely altered) and he says to me: “you know who you look like, Ali? That girl from Spiderman.”

oh yes, i’ve heard this before. TOO MANY TIMES. but seriously? Kirsten Dunst? really? REALLY? Isn’t Kirsten Dunst just a little, erm, fug?

the first time i’ve ever been told i look like someone famous pretty well scarred me for life. (possibly more scarring than the dude at the stoplight who liked himself a little too much)

over the years i’ve had a few. i’ve had Felicity, which i’m attributing to the fact that we both have big ole round heads

and i’ve had Kaitlin Cooper from the OC…which i’m attributing to, erm, i don’t know? hairstyle?

and i’ve gotten Jordana Spiro from My Boys

and apparently, Matthew from ChildsPlayx2 chimed in with a very interesting choice…Marcia Brady. the pre-coke version..

which i totally can’t see.

only now that i actually went and looked for a photo…

Recently, since the new glasses, I have been told that I look like Tina Fey…which I guess now means I look like Sarah Palin? Which, YIKES.

I have been told I look like Ali Sheedy and I have to say I am always none to happy to hear it. All I can picture of when I think of her is her greasy character from Breakfast Club. I know she did other stuff but UGH.

Kirsten Dunst is totally fug. Nina Webster’s teeth always reminded me of a horse and in the picture above she looks like she’s going to jump through the screen and beat me senseless. I don’t see Marcia Brady at all – I do see the My Boys girl resemblance, though. I’d say that’s the most accurate comparison of them all.

I am often told that I look like Lisa Loeb, but I think it has more to do with my choice in glasses frames than it does serious resemblance (I mean, come on, Lisa Loeb is HOT). You know those Hollywood comparison things where you can upload a pic of you and then see which stars you look like? I got Lisa Loeb and some other woman I didn’t know, then Elton John and Michael Jackson.

That being said, I think Kirsten Dunst and Keri Russell are actually rather pretty. Well done you.

For my own loathsome comparisons, I most frequently get Jewel or Renee Zellweger (circa “Jerry Maguire”). The worst pick-up line I’ve ever heard, however, involved my resembling Annika Sorenstam, the golfer. At least she’s an amazing golfer, but . ..

With my glasses I get told Lisa Loeb. It never fails. With my new bangs – I kept getting a comparison that I can’t remember – so it can’t be that important.

I think Kirsten Dunst is very pretty. I just don’t think she presents herself well which maybe is what you attribute to fug.

Delurking because I did that picture thing online where you upload a photo and it tells you who your celebrity match is and it was FERGIE – and man, that girl is NOT pretty and I don’t see it. But part of me wonders whether we just get so used to the way we look that we can’t see resemblances. Even still, I hope to hell I do not look like her. A long long time ago people used to say I looked like Brooke Shields. Which I did. I even made up a story that I wanted to enter a photo of myself looking like her into a contest, just so I could get this cool new girl at school to hang out with me. She was from NYC, and very artsy. It worked. We became good friends for a couple years. She did turn out to be kind of a freak. I wonder what ever happened to her.

When I was little (like early teens), I used to get Sharon Stone a lot, because we both have fiveheads and similar eyebrows. Now I get Carrie Underwood A LOT, particularly when I curl my hair. I have even been mistaken for her in TN on numerous occasions. Oh, and the other most common is Sheryl Crow (when I don’t dry or curl my hair and just let the wave take over).

But you know the absolute worst? BRITNEY EFFING SPEARS. From my own mother, last week. And not even late 90’s hot Brit, but post-meltdown, post-weight gainage Brit.
