wow. you guys have blown me away…and have given me at least a week’s worth of things to write about. I will probably start with the easy ones first…like Ambrosiality‘s and and Pampered Bunz‘s and Aimee Greeblemonkey‘s question of why I want a Nikon SLR and not a Canon. The answer to this is simple. My dad. He had a Nikon D70 and D80 and i fell in love at first click. I’ve never used anything else.
i do, however, have a canon point-and-shoot, and i used it this morning to follow the herd (baaaaa!) who followed Sweetney and post a photo of myself taken pre-coffee and pre-make-up and pre-shower. actually, i’m fairly certain i’m still sleeping in this shot. (i’m certainly NOT smiling..ahem, ali doesn’t smile before she’s had coffee)
this exercise in self-mockery gives us a great little segueway into several of your questions…
LD wants to know: I know this is a weird question, but if you had the option to get veneers on your teeth – would you?
(that’s not a hint that you have bad teeth – it’s just that all the celebrities are doing it and I hear in like 10 years it’s not so good.)
i would, if someone was paying for them. i HATE my teeth. i forced my orthodontist to remove my braces WAY earlier than they should have come off, and to this day, i regret it. I covet people with great teeth. i would just be afraid that i’d come out looking like Hilary Duff horse teeth…
YIKES!
Loralee asked: Hmm…I haven’t been reading you long so…If you could have any “Work Done†on yourself, what would it be? Or would you even do it?
i would! i always thought i wanted a tummy tuck to remove that excess little pooch of skin i’m sporting from housing three babies. but then i heard that it’s a really awful surgery. really painful and really invasive…
and also? have you seen Patricia Heaton’s post-tummy tucked non-belly button?
so my sister and i decided that we NEED to get a mini-lipo. that’s my surgery of choice.
Miss, who got extra points for her flattery yesterday, said: Ooh I got one! How did you get so hot? And explain your hair. I want long bangs but dont know how to ask for them. You know I covet your hair.
long side-swept bangs. my hairdresser has been begging me to get ones like hers forever. i finally caved and WAS so happy with my decision. so, i guess my tip is find a good hairdresser who has good hair.
Steph wants to know: What is your best beauty secret or tip?
i’m certainly not one to ask. i’m a simple girl. i’m a big believer in less is more. i wear the same make-up every. single. day. if you have a good mascara – and i do, Lancome hypnose – and a good lipgloss – and i do, MAC plushglass, you’ve got a great start.
Jennifer asked: You have such great style…where do you shop and will you help me find cute clothes, too?
i have great style? seriously? seriously? me? for my work wardrobe, i like to wear solid colors and clean lines. i’m a big fan of these. short skirts, nicely tailored pants, turtlenecks. i shop for work clothes mostly at Banana Republic and Anthropologie, and two Canadian stores, Jacob and RW&Co. for my play wardrobe, i like to wear jeans and Ts and hoodies…Abercrombie, Hollister, Boathouse. and Miss Jennifer, I would LOVE to shop with you!!
Jennifer also wants to know what my favorite guilty indulgence is…but you are going to have to come back tomorrow to find THAT out…also about the work questions and the husband questions and the Canada questions and the embarrassing moment questions and the reason-i-named-my kids questions. oh, and miss Lara, i will be answering your question about our little love child. it’s going to be a FUN week
and i promise i won’t scare you with any more morningali shots.
