…we are moving.
We have sold some furniture on craigslist.
We have given some furniture to my nanny.
We have donated baby stuff. ALL of our baby stuff.
I have lent some books to my reader friends who will kindly “babysit” them while I’m away.
We left stuff on our lawn in the hopes that someone would take them and make a good home for them (they did!)
We even donated some books to the local library. The husband didn’t even bother going in and asking if they would take donations. He simply threw 150 books down the book return slot outside. Someone in the library is either going to be very confused or very excited about this.
We have packed 3o+ boxes. They are all labeled and coded with my no-fail coding system. well, with the exception of A-5. somehow there is NO box A-5.
HOLY SHIT. IT’S OFFICIALLY HIT. WE ARE MOVING. TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY.
and since we packed our 3 sets of dishes (yes, we have three. actually we DID have 4, but we threw the ugly totally chipped to hell green set out last week. don’t ask. It’s a Jew thing. If you don’t believe me, ask Metalia. heh) we are eating on paper (go ali, single-handedly killing the earth!) and eating take-out for the next two weeks. and since we packed the wii and all the games and all the toys, my children will be annoying the crap out of me whining for the next two weeks. and since I packed all my clothing, I may rewear the same 4 outfits (and there’s a good chance I *might* look homeless at blogher, which is totally why I’m coming in on WEDNESDAY so I can go shopping with Angella and Kristabella so I don’t scare any of you guys away)
(yes, my homeless self and I ARE GOING TO BLOGHER)
on a totally unrelated note…I have a question for you that came from a very heated discussion with some Canadians…what do you call the thing you use to change the channels on your tv? a remote? or a converter? When I moved to Canada, being asked to pass someone the “converter” was one of the strangest, most bizarre things I’d ever heard.
