…my stupid Candy Crush addiction (level 87 oh my heavenly days)

…and having to return my half-a-scarf that came from the Gap due to a wee bit of false advetising

…and my Sons of Anarchy obsession (halfway through season 3 now and I cannot stop because they are in Ireland right now and I miss Ireland so much) (I seriously cannot look at Ron Perlman and not see a Barenstain Bear. Papa Bear, specifically. I know some of you see Beast and some of you see Hellboy, but much like the same way I couldn’t watch Ted because Ted the bear looks way too much like Seth Rogen, this is all I see)

…and that pesky little (Read: bigger than little) event that is happening in 11 days (8, really, if you start counting from when some of the very special out-of-towners will be making the trek to the Great White North)

…and zombie flash mob rehearsals

…and this awesome series I have been writing over at Mamapop about dressing like your television

…and hosting LOFT events

…and auditions and dance practices and hockey and my full-time job and Jewish holidays and kids who stay home from school because they are sick even though they aren’t even sick at all and working out with Kim the trainer and working out on my own and trips to Ann Arbor and giant snowstorms and deciding whether or not to keep my blunt bangs and seeing friends and dealing with DRAMA…

I’m…how shall we say this…

It feels almost obnoxious to tell you that I’m busy. Like, way to waste my reading time Ali by telling us that you are busy because this isn’t really news Ali—everyone is busy.

But that’s just it. This is my life. It’s silly and goofy and dull and boring and hard and tiring and weird and messy and tiring.

Even though it’s not A THING—it’s not a big cause. It’s not the kind of story that gets retweeted or even gets a like on Facebook. It doesn’t go viral. It doesn’t get people talking, it doesn’t get shared all over social media. It’s not the FLOTUS dancing with Jimmy Kimmel, it’s not Jennifer Lawrence and Jack Nicholson, it’s not newsworthy, it’s not worthy of internet rubbernecking.

It just IS. This is it. And it’s important. It’s all important.

  1. after a week, I finally moved past level 63 while playing on my phone on the toilet. I’ve decided this is the only way I’m going to get anywhere with this damn game.

  2. I want to know more about LOFT events you’re hosting, and where is my invite? Fingers crossed I make it to TO on March 10th!
But I’m there in April, and we have SO MUCH TO TALK ABOUT. xoxoxo

Well, you know I’m a LOFTgirl, right?
    Like…brand ambassador?
Well, we had an event on Sunday—for the new spring line. Was awesome!

  3. I like it. A post about life. That scarf situation is a bad one… also, I wonder if your glasses would look good on me?

  4. “This is my life. It’s silly and goofy and dull and boring and hard and tiring and weird and messy and tiring.”

word. and I appreciate that tiring was added twice.

  6. I think it is very important and newsworthy. Blogging and social media is all about making connections, hopefully genuine and really connections. The only real way of doing that is knowing what someone is going through.

  7. This post has been on my mind. You know why? Because… perspective? YOU HAVE IT. And, as another mom of three (OMG busy kids) with a full time job, I appreciated the way you write this post. Thank you.
