March 16 12

Meet two of my favorite Cheerios—Quinn Fabray and Santana Lopez.

Or, if you will, my 11-year-old daughter Emily and her friend Molly.

I’m an incredibly proud mama bear this morning.

Mostly because this was the first play (in a long line of plays like The Wizard of Oz and Grease and Hairspray and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory..) where there was absolutely zero nervousness.

She knew all of her lines by, like, the second week of rehearsals and just went out there each night and just had the time of her life.

She was smile-y, spunky, sassy.

She was great.

Next up?

Mary Poppins.

You should probably book your tickets now…

  5. What a set of pipes she has! She sang the tricky “Don’t Rain on my Parade” with sass and gusto… Bravo Emily! 🙂

  6. I’m a proud pseudo-Auntie! I’m tearing up at my desk! She is so amazing. I’m not surprised in the least because I’ve met her. SHE IS AMAZING!

I want to come to Mary Poppins! Let me know when it is, for reals. As long as a grandparent doesn’t trump me again. 🙂

I wish I could make it for Mary Poppins. But maybe I’ll just sit tight until she makes it out here to LA to be a big star…

  10. She’s wonderful Ali! Everytime you post about her performances it seems she’s even better than the last (if that is possible). And isn’t it fun that she loves it too! Destined for great moments on the stage I think!

  14. That’s so fantastic – she sounded amazing!

I’m a little disappointed in the set decoration, though.
