Emily and her friend Samara are the perfect best friends. They are alike in so many ways, and different in so many as well. They shared a scene last night in their Wizard of Oz production; a scene I had seen them practice in our living room—and in Samara’s—about a hundred times.

The pair of them; Samara the Scarecrow and Emily the Dorothy.

There will be more pictures, I promise.

There will be more video, I promise.

But, just look at this face.

Just look at it.

That, friends, is the face of the child who is happiest up on a stage.

I mean.

Come on.

That face.

  1. Oh em gee… ADORABLE.

As I clicked off, I thought…I need to remember her name. I’m sure I’ll see it again one day. Movies. Broadway. Something.

  15. Wow – I don’t usually comment (I know, I know…), but I just had to say a few things.

#1 – Emily is amazing. She really has a fantastic voice and stage presence. Good for you for encouraging her in this passion while still keeping her grounded.

#2 – Your recent posts about quitting your job have really hit home for me! I know I’m a bit late to comment, but I can relate in so many ways to what you are saying. I am contemplating leaving a job I’ve been with for a long time, people I really love and work I enjoy doing. But it’s just not working for my family. Scare the living daylights out of me, though! And the awkwardness – oh God, the awkwardness – it’s going to be awful! Your story has given me courage, though. Thanks!
