Emily and Joshua have passed through grades 2 and 1 with flying colors! (that’s second grade and first grade to you Americans and colours to you Canadians! I am such a giver)

Last September…

Emily didn’t know how to ride a 2-wheeler, and last night she rode 7km with her daddy

Emily didn’t have bangs.

Josh was in swimming level 1; he’s still in swimming level 1. Emily was in level 3. Now she’s in level 6.

Isabella had never heard of Yo Gabba Gabba.

We didn’t have a dog.

We weren’t moving to Atlanta.

The kids had never been to Niagara Falls.

Josh was reading at a first grade level; he’s now reading at a 4th grade level.

Isabella didn’t have her ears pierced.

Emily didn’t care about the Jonas Brothers.

Josh had never played hockey before.

Josh had all of his baby teeth; and Miss Emily had only lost ONE tooth.

Emily had only been in one play.

Josh had never touched a chinchilla and Emily had never held a snake.

Josh had never been on the jumbotron at a Jays’ game.

Isabella didn’t know how to write her name.

Emily had never taken a shower; now she ONLY takes showers.

wow. It has been QUITE the year.

and now….NO MORE CARPOOL UNTIL SEPTEMBER OF 2010! awesome.

  2. Um, I don’t know if its just based on your moving schedule… but schools in the South start in August. Which I always thought was completely unfair. But they also finish at the end of May/first week of June.

Yeah, you’re moving to a weird part of the US, but I’m sure you already knew that.

  3. I love that they’re wearing the same clothes. Or is that a uniform? Well, if it’s a uniform, Emily’s dress is awesome. Imagine what you’ll be posting this time next year!

  11. Wait, I’m confused. Are they not going to school next year? Or are you just not carpooling in the ATL? Or do you mean no more of THAT carpool?

They’ve all really had a momentous year!

  13. See, who needs baby books when there are awesome blog entries for your kids to look at one day to see just how adorable they were and how far they had come…

  14. when I first looked at the pictures I thought, “Oh for pete’s sake, Ali dressed them the same on the first day as the last for comparison?”

Then I realized they were uniforms.

    I still can’t believe you’re leaving.

  16. I’m taking serious issue with the fact that Emily is more fashionable than me. I should not be jealous of a 2nd grader!

  23. I think I just wept for joy a little bit for you! Sometimes, when I accidently drive by the schools at pick up time, I swear to you I chuckle a little bit and think “Suckas!”

I LOVE this post. What a great way to realize how much the kids have changed in such a short time. Also love they have the same outfits on!
