this morning my coworker Laura came over to my desk. I was sipping my iced coffee, Nancy Botwin style
and she did a little happy dance.
why, you ask?
because it’s the day after labor day. my favorite day of the whole year. it’s everyone’s favorite day of the year!
the day the backpacks come out (Wall-e for the boy. Adidas pink and brown – because, duh, characters are so not cool for grade 2ers mom – for the girl)
the day i officially have a second grader. and a first grader.

(in canada it’s called a grade two-er and a grade one-er. barf)
it was a big weekend leading up to the day after labor day.
we all tried a little yoga
we all breathed a sigh of relief as my son went from this:

we swam. twice. we bbq’ed. twice.
i donned a bikini. the same one that one of the survivors is wearing this season. (and it looks WAY better on me. heh)
i got my favorite heel STUCK in my vent in my hallway. i swear. i even had to take the vent OUT of the floor and use TOOLS to try to get it out. things that happen ONLY to Ali part #546.
i re-enacted the great Ali-meets-her back door caper of 2008.

and decided there’s an etsy store in my future.
and now..i sit back…and enjoy my iced coffee. and my favorite day of the year.
until 4:00 when i have to go and brave all the competimommies in the freakin’ carpool line.
