life with Emily. ah, life with Emily.

when it’s good, it’s VERY, very good..

she’s smart and funny and talented and even stops to teach her brother and her ice-cream clad, half-nudey sister a new dance move…

but most of the time THIS is Emily…

“Mommy, i have a problem!”

“Emily, i’m at work. what’s your problem?”

“It says i have to wear my camp t-shirt because we are going bowling today.”

“I know. i took it out for you.”

“But i can’t wear it.”

“Emma. i’m at work. what’s the problem?”

“Well, see the thing is…well, i just can’t…it’s not, it’s just not CUTE. i wouldn’t be caught dead in it.”

(she’s SEVEN)

“Emily, the ENTIRE camp is going glow-in-the-dark bowling today. every. single. person. there is going to be wearing the SAME shirt.”

“so?”

“So, you can’t go on the trip if you’re not wearing it. is it worth missing bowling?”

“maybe”

“goodbye Emily. i’ll see you later. have a fun day. i’m hanging up the phone right now. i need to go back to finding a photo of a cactus…”

“At least you got to pick your shirt this morning”

CLICK

Emily also says, “please, please, please stop wearing white pants. they are only appropriate for the pre-teen set”

she is wise beyond her years, folks.

even Mrs. Fussypants agrees with that, Emily!

thank you thank you thank you for all your TV recommendations. i’m currently in the process of downloading about 43 different shows. and i’ve decided to start with

but only because it was the first one to finish downloading. three episodes in, though, and i’m HOOKED. amazing.

speaking of TV….anyone watch Big Brother 10 last night? any early favorites?

  1. But life with Emily is entertaining!

Re: BB… I didn’t get a whole lot out of last night… too much about justifying the nominations… but I liked Jerry (who didn’t?) and suspect that Dan/Brian will end up orchestrating their own demise in a few weeks.

Ummm, we’re off to salsa tots and Monkey’s wearing a white and black polka dot dress because SHE INSISTED! Yesterday, she wore her “Paris Hilton” dress to a HORSE SHOW. I have an Emily in the making — at THREE YEARS OLD!

Big Brother. My fav? Too early to tell. Obviously that Reny or whatever has to go. If she doesn’t, I will stop watching.

PS. I love your taste in TV.

I may need to check out 6 feet under. I must have been under a rock for the last few years. Oh, and I missed Big Brother too.

Just wait until she has money of her own to spend on clothes.

And BB10 – I dunno who I like yet. I know I don’t like Renny and that Brian guy seems sketchy to me.

  11. I think that maybe, just maybe, Emily and I are long lost sisters, or twins, or cousins or something.

I am pretty sure she has my soul – literally.

I once had a friend who made us all wear matching t-shirts to her birthday party. Needless to say, she wasn’t happy with my chosen attire. Oops.

And? Did I throw out my favorite series EVER? Dead Like Me. Mandy Patinkin (Inego Montoya Princess Bride) plays an mid-level manager to a rag-tag group of Grim Reapers who have their headquarters in a German Waffle house in Seattle and get their assignments via PostIt notes. LOVE IT.

  33. When I was a kid I would get mad if my mom tried to put me in something that didn’t match. Everything had to be a perfect match and never ever worse navy blue and black together.

Also, I wear white pants. And I even have a white pair of capris for BlogHer.

And also, if Renny doesn’t go this week on BB10, I might shoot myself. And that Jessie needs to stop whining.

I’m loving BB10 and was up all night watching the live feeds. So much went down..it was awesome!

I was rooting for Jerry and still might be but he’s been a little creepy on the feeds. I think I’m leaning more towards Keesha. She’s been very sweet to everyone and likes everyone in the house.
