again. (oh yes, that’s right. it’s not the first time.) (i can remember many a time getting pulled from class with a phone call from my mom apologizing for forgetting. back in the olden days when we didn’t all carry cell phones)
and i don’t even have my very own long duck dong. or my very own king of the dipshits to give my underpants to. or my very own Jake Ryan.

but i do have my friends. friends who really are my family. friends who will pick you up from the airport. friends who will tell you when your muffintop is pouring out of your jeans. friends who will meet you for coffee when you need to talk. friends who will lend you their Zelda for months and not even ask for it back. friends who will let you crash at their house all day with all three of your monsters children. friends who take you bowling just because you love it. friends who will stock their kitchen with your favorite bakery cookies…just for you.
friends who will remember your birthday.
and take you to Moxie’s and get you drunk on Mexican Bulldogs…
friends who will bring “you are THIRTY” props and make you and Shane wear them in public…

so, yeah, it sucks that my mom forgot my birthday. and i only got an email from my stepmom and dad. and that my inlaws didn’t call. and that neither of my brothers - who are BOTH on facebook (really, when you have facebook, there’s no excuse to miss your sister’s birthday) - remembered to even give me a shout out on my friggin’ wall.
(my sister, though, she pulled though (love you!) and husband’s sisters too (love you too!)
but, in the end, i had my friends. and they mean the world to me. and even if they aren’t Jake Ryan…there’s no one else i’d rather spend my birthday with. (mwah! big kisses to the ones who couldn’t make it last night!)
