advice of the day, from Ali: never, ever, give up your immunity necklace. yes, i would be talking to you…Erik aka the dumbest survivor ever. also? dude with the dumbest hair.

advice of the day, from Isabella: we don’t touch our bum-bum, and we don’t eat poo. even if there’s corn.

words of wisdom today, folks. words. of. wisdom.

When I was in St. Lucia, getting all drunk and tan, and making all of y’all jealous, i was asked a question…

If you could only listen to one band or musician for the rest of your life, who would it be?

wow. this question just about killed me. ONE? seriously? well, we know it wouldn’t be Scarlett Johansson. bwah. i like too many bands and listen to different things when i’m in different moods. shit.

i cheated and came up with two. The Beatles. Radiohead. my reason is threefold:

a) they both have huge catalogues.

b) they both have tons of varied music.

c) they both are fucking awesome.

YOUR TURN!

-
  1. No contest – Genesis,hands down.

Why? Because they are AWESOME and if they Oz on their tour but don’t do Perth, I will FLY anywhere in the country to see them (for the 4th time in my life!).

    Beatles come a close second.

Mmmm, I can hear the strains of Suppers Ready…

Comment by Heidi on May 9, 2008
  2. I’d have to agree with Heidi on Genesis.

A close second would be ColdPlay.

both these bands are incredible and have lyrics that stand the test of time.

Beatles are pretty good too, but I’m listening to them alot at work these day and feeling a little bored with them, sadly. sorry!

  3. Line of the night: James. “I just lost my crown as dumbest survivor ever!”

As for band… probably U2, for similar reasons that you chose The Beatles and Radiohead. (Although Radiohead would be a close second.)

  7. Very good advice all around.

I’ve cheated on that question too because it is too hard. My answer is all music featuring Dave Grohl because then I get the Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age… Plus Dave has done some mighty 80’s cover songs too.

  8. Well I need to sing along so it would have to be songs I know all the words to, being a product of the 80’s, and I know you’ll hate me for this, I have to pick Madonna, or George Micheal – including his Wham days. I know – you’re wincing as you’re reading this! Have a good weekend!

  9. One band? The rest of my life? I would be screwed because my taste changes every five seconds….
Thank you, Isabella. That is an awesome thing to remember.

  10. Ooooh tough one. I would have to say The Stereophonics for me, they have two records that I can listen to endlessly. As well, I could totally live off of Belle and Sebastian.

  11. Counting Crows, for sure. Again, they have tons of albums and a lot of variety.

Coldplay wouldn’t be too bad either, and lately I’m digging some chick music like Carrie Underwood and Colbie Callait — but they don’t have enough albums out to make the cut.

  13. I don’t even watch Survivor but I tuned in just in time to watch the end last night and I am so glad I did. LOL

There is just no way I could go through life on one band! But if I have to choose I guess I’ll go with Led Zeppelin. It’s my old standby that I just couldn’t give up.

Comment by AJ on May 9, 2008
  14. I think I’d die a slow painful death without music choices. But if I had to pick, I’d say James Taylor, just because I’ve loved him since I was a kid and I’ve never gotten sick of the same songs.

  20. Hmmm…I would go with a composer. Danny Elfman. One? He is a KICK ASS orchestral soundtrack composer AND was the main man in Oingo Boingo so the list would be very long and very varied.

    Awesome.

    And, the Beatles. No doubt.
