Isabella is in love. with a bunny in our backyard. it doesn’t belong to us, of course, but it usually makes at least one appearance each day. and Isabella spends about 95% of her day standing up on our couch, looking out the window.

“Rabbit! whe’are you? I find you! rabbit?”

(ps. the way she combines ‘where’ and ‘are’ into one word is to. die. for. possibly my favorite thing that she says)

The funny this is that my sister-in-law in Montreal actually has a rabbit, Beamer (Beemer?), and Isabella isn’t really all that interested in it. and when we frequent the pet store…she’s all about the “nakes”. but this bunny in the backyard. it’s bella’s bunny.

so, imagine our surprise when we found bella’s bunny devoured and ripped to shreds on Wednesday. seriously. just a pile of bones and some fur and a tell-tale floppy ear (just to rub in it. now we know it’s her bunny).

what could have done this? raccoon? cat? it seriously looks like something a raptor would have done. or maybe i’m reviewing too many birds of prey books for work. (oh, yes, i know all about ‘em – condors, eagles, hawks, ospreys, owls. it’s some scary, scary shit. the stuff that nightmares are made of.)

i’m so sad for Isabella. and i’m so sad for the husband, who, as of this morning, is on bunny disposal duty. yikes. that’s not my department.

(i’m on self-appointed bra-disposal duty. probably as terrifying a task…i have about 35 bras…and about 4 that actually fit. i have the big melon-holders back when i was a good solid 34DDD….and i have the itty-bitty-titty training bras back when i was super-skinny and a super-tiny 32A.)

Grey’s Anatomy

~ this was a terrible, terrible episode. i am so over Meredith having the worst. life. ever. seriously. i’m not her biggest fan, but the woman needs some happiness. parents dying all around her (while the only parent who should die is Thatcher). Derek is an ass. the poor girl. i’m so over George and Izzy and her stupid annoying speeches. i’m so over Alex and Ava/Rebecca. i’m so over everyone and their mother being pregnant. everyone BUT Addison. we get it. she gave up a baby.

~ best exchange? “I’m not stripping” “we’ve seen it already” “true” “i haven’t”

~ i was sooo not expected the freakin’ pic axe at the end. i was thinking the exact same thing as Bailey…what the hell happened up on that mountain?

~anyone think the girl hitting on Derek was Lexi?

  1. first off, so sorry ’bout Bella’s garden bunny .. how sad for her AND the rabbit. Maybe a dog or raccoon got him. So is she still looking for him?

Grey’s sucked, I’m actually reading for it to be over this season .. I agree about Meredith.. and Derek, is an ass.
You think Addison had a baby in the past?
I missed the first 15 mins .. about the guys on the mountain .. they tried to kill that third guy?

she had an abortion…so now they are using it to get their point across. Addy gave up the chance to have a baby back then…and now she can’t have babies. karma. – Ali

  2. A pile of bunny bones?! That is the worst thing I’ve ever heard. But don’t buy your little one a bunny- they’re cute but they can turn mean and nasty. Bunnies.Bite.Very.Hard.

  3. Ohhhhh she’ll be so sad! you must get another bunny, only I suppose it’d be cruel to buy a bunny and set it free because it probably won’t know how to defend itself. soooooooo sad1

  4. We have a similar bunny… but it seems to have better survival skills.

    Re: Grey’s…
    1. Who’s Lexi?
    2. Did you catch that it was Friday Night Light’s night? The pregnant teen (carrying twins) was Smash’s gf, and one of the 3 hikers (the middle one, the one who was Sheppard’s patient) was Street’s room mate in the hospital (and the one who got him into quad rugby). I hear next week Jay Street gets to walk again thanks to Derek.
    3. Why do I sense that Addison will leave SG because she has the touch of death? 2 preggers last night, both seen by Addison, both collapsing.

Lexi is Thatcher’s other daughter. the one in med school. they always talk about her…but we’ve never seen her. and she said she had a bad day…burying her mother could certainly have done that….

yes! total friday night lights night! awesome! - Ali

  8. Sorry about the bunny carnage. Probably a nasty raccoon, that’s what happened to my hubby’s cat.

Grey’s didn’t really go anywhere did it? And I am with you, so over Izzy’s speeches.

I was wondering why all of the Friday Night Lights people were there, they better not cancel that show… I could cry.

  9. yeah, we had a little duck lay eggs and make a nest in the ivy in the backyard when i was little, and one day we found a massacre. we blamed the neighbor’s cat. we tried to save the babies in the eggs by bringing them to our science teacher, but they couldn’t be saved. i think i cried a lot. :(

  10. I had to skip the second part of your post cause I haven’t watched GA yet. BOTH of y stupid, stupid, STUPID DVRs chose not to record it.

The bunny story is so sad! Are there random dogs around? Oh, that’s just awful.

  11. omg Ali…. we’re BOOB SOUL SISTERS ! I’m a 34DDD too, and I STILL haven’t found one bra that fits properly since I got em’. I wish there was a bra support group and buddy shopping tour for people like me. And you apparently.

    nah…just to clarify…i was only 34ddd while pregnant and nursing. i am currently a 34c. – Ali

  12. 34DDD? Yeah, that would be my size. We can start a club.
The bunny was probably a victim of a dog, although there are some wild predatory animals living in various wooded parts of the Toronto region. Poor bunny.

  13. its the bunny season – the killing of them, that is. we too, had a bunny in our yard- over the weekend it laid a nest and had babies on our neighbors lawn. their dog found four baby bunnies and killed them all, leaving a sole survivor. who disappeared out of the nest the next day…hopefully removed by his/her mother for somewhere safer. the dog, coincidentally, got sprayed by a racoon the next morning after his bunny chomping episode…karma?!?!

  16. Maybe I’m asking too much, but I’m just living in hope, as I am closer to the 32 B variety. Is there hope ? What does this take ? Or is this a crazy wild dream of mine ?

I missed Grey’s ( I never thought I would see the day) and I don’t think I’m too sad about it.

  17. I have to defend Izzy a little… George is obviously dense and he needs a push and shove here and there… Her speech about the one you want not being able to say I will honor and cherish you was GREAT! She isn’t so bad–really!!

  18. Poor bunny…we’ve had similar things happen in our yard and I think it was either the dogs next door (as I’ve seen them with a bunny in thier mouth) or a coyote. I hate beint on bunny detail after something like that happenes!

  20. I think it was Lexi, because wasn’t the same girl there talking to Thatcher being like “Dad, come on.”?

    So yeah, I think so.

Also, was I the only one who sensed some sort of oncoming connection between at least one of the climbers and Ava?

I liked the bachelor party conversation too :)

  21. Okay. Now I’ve watched it. You got me beat on GA knowledge, b/c I forgot ALL about Lexi. I did wonder about the other daughter (the one that had the baby). last I remember, she did not know that Meredith was her sister? Has that changed? Or did she just think Thatch was railing on her for being the Doctor?

  22. part one-hawk
part two-if Lexi is the kid half sister going into residency, hell yes i think that
part two, two-a lame let down at the end of the year, and I was only stunned that the guy was still alive as opposed to having a pick axe in his head or wherever it was.
part 3-another one on facebook now, dang Twyla
