we finally got our Here’s My Baby photos. they were totally worth the wait!

are you dying yet?

and the good news is that i’m NOT dying on South Beach yet. Today is day 3…that day that’s supposed to be the worst day…and so far so good (granted, it IS only 8:30…)

my new discovery is that in phase one you can have 1 tsp. of peanut butter…but if you are slightly more daring you can have 2 tablespoons on the natural stuff (no sugar or salt added). 2 tablespoons!?!! that’s a ton!

so, i did it. i bought the all natural stuff. kraft makes a semi-decent one. i actually added a little splenda to it, and it’s GREAT. i mean, it’s not the usual wonderfully creamy normal peanutbuttery consistency that i’m used to, but 2 tablespoons is two tablespoons, and i’ll take it!

I went to this charity dinner thing last night for an organization that the husband volunteers for.

not only does he volunteer, he is on their council, and i – in one of my not-so-finest moments – whined like a big ‘ole baby that they sat us at the council table (where the closest person in age to us was in his sixties) instead of with our friends. lucky for me, one couple didn’t show up, so we moved over there. and had a great time. even though there were too many speeches.

ah, where was i…there was a point to my story. oh, yes. i had to cheat a little bit. the dinner was chicken with roasted veggies and potatoes and sweet potatoes. i politely declined on both potatoes (go me! truth? i didn’t even want them!) but the chicken had a bit of sauce on it. i scraped it off and ate it anyway.

and this morning i was down another 1/2 pound. so, that’s a total of 1 pound. not overly exciting. but the scale going down instead of going up is a great, great thing.

  1. Ali .. your pictures are Awesome!Your kiddos are adorable!
And Bella .. simply devine .. the last one of her-priceless!
Kudo’s to you on your SB diet, I don’t know how to give up carbs – with kids they are all around us in the kitchen. HOW .. do you not starve?????
I think it would be a great thing for me, and the hubby .. but I’m so freaked out about being hungry!

  2. Can you feel a difference yet in your belly?
I swear I felt more toned within the first few days, just less bulky and bloat-y.

  3. That picture with the pearls is too cute! The others are absolutely prescious, too, but the pearl picture is my favorite. Seriously, are you trying to make want to throw the Five Year Plan out the window and have lots of babies right now in the hopes that my babies might be even half as cute as yours? Because it’s working.

  4. I’m here for the first time and feel compelled to say that your kids are smashing :). I’d love to know if they have a Here’s My Baby studio here in Montreal (Volia Mon Bebe? Loses something in the translation, no?). God, and I’m totally jazzed to know there’s a fellow mom out there who has The Killers and the New Pornographers on her playlist. 🙂

  6. My faves are the top and bottom ones! They are all really stunning pictures. Josh looks older than my Timmy. I am so in denial about him turning four.

  7. I’m interested to hear how that diet works out – I’m pretty eager to lose some weight myself. So go, you!
And your kids are adorable! Your oldest looks just like you do in your picture!

  8. OY! The pics! I am DY-ING!!!
The natural peanut butter is SO much better than the processed stuff. You get used to it. Almond butter is even yummier, but it’s SUPER expensive!!

  9. Very cute–and I’m impressed you got them all smiling simultaneously. With four I can’t see to get one with all their eyes open let alone all looking the same direction and smiling.

  13. So so cute!! ***Squeal*** I just love the matching shirts! Good luck on the diet. It takes huge willpower. I don’t know much about the South beach diet but I couldn’t give up carbs. Me and carbs are just too BFF.

  14. Apropos to nothing…I just wanted to say that when I open up the blogs I read in tabs, there are 22 of them that I follow. And whenever I get to your graphic, it makes me smile. Sitting at a table, having a drink (be it coffee or wine depending on the time of day and I’m not commiting to any particular time on the wine) with a girlfriend is one of the things that keeps me sane, keeps me married, probably keeps my kids safe from foster care (anyone who has any “issues” with me saying this does not have a 13 year old daughter) and reminds me that in addition to my prodigious talents at laundry, grocery shopping and paying bills on time, I am ME. The one who is a good friend, who can make people (not my children) laugh, who can cry over other’s problems and (this may be the most important) always offers to pick up the whole check!

You know I’m a fan…just wanted to tell you…never change the graphic!
