i didn’t think it would have to come to this. giving you oh so much more information than i’d like.

i’m not pregnant. i was at the women’s health clinic today running some tests and getting some swabs (yikes!) to make sure that i can get my Mirena iud put in the first week of January.

so, there you go. too much information. but at least now you know that i’m not pregnant.

  1. Congratulations on your not-pregnancy! Babies are great, but the idea of four babies makes me want to hyperventalate with my head between my knees.

  2. I feel so close to you now….
I’m rethinking my post baby birth control plans
I had always had something permanent in mind after baby #2 but you never know what will happen in life.

I am totally jealous you got ice cream to watch the OC yesterday. I totally forgot to PVR it bc the season started late.

  4. Here’s hoping you have better luck than I did. I read your comment on my blog about the Mirena. I am now waiting for doc to call me and prescribe pill #6 for the pain. I also have an appt for 12/16 to get this thing out! No, not everyone has the same problems but just a heads up.
This is gonna be a long post- Sorry

-Warning- About to get a bit graphic

First got it put in 1 year ago(3 months post-partum)and I was fine, small amount of cramping after insertion but I shopped Target right after so not bad. After that within a few days I started bleeding and except for changing from bright red to brown and back again (and from heavy to med/light flow)it didn’t stop for about 4 months (ok I got a 2 day reprieve at one point-whoopie) After that I was happy as a clam for 4 months then I noticed I hadn’t lost any more baby weight, I don’t generally keep close track of my weight. Then about the same time I started having shooting pains in my neck. Pinched nerve I thought. Tried Chiro- nada, 2 months of that and decided to try Dr. he keeps trying NSAID’s (like I said #6 coming) and had me try Physical therapy- that just hurt more and the pills aren’t working. He says arthritis. I have had arthritis in my neck for years but not hands, feet, shoulders, elbows, knees, hips, ankles, you get the picture. So I did even more research yestreday and found out I am SOOOOOO not alone. I’m hoping things will get back to normal shortly after it’s removed. There are loads other symptoms I’ve been having but think I’ve rambled enough. Please, please, please pay attention to your body and if something is happening that doesn’t seem right- go directly to your Dr.
I ignored the signs (yes I’m stubborn)and now I’ll be paying for it for awhile if not forever. Good luck, let me know if you need anything.

  7. I’ve had my Mirena for about a year now, and I LOVE IT! I have had some spotting and mild discomfort, but totally worth not having a period if you ask me. I am totally happy with mine!

    Hope everything goes well!

  8. Congratulations, I think! Sounds like you and I were in similar circumstances. I got a pregnancy test at the gyno’s office, and then a lovely endometrial biopsy. Fun!

By the way, now that you’ve changed your blog name, I saw a t-shirt advertised in People Magazine that said…yes, you guessed it, “I Blog, Therefore I Am.” They totally stole it from you!

  11. Well, I can say that this will be my last pregnancy! I can’t deal with this Mommy brain any longer!! They say that you loose around 8% of braincell with each pregnancy, so with my calculation…I already lost about 32%. Yikes!
