GASP. You guys, summer is almost over. It just started yesterday, didn’t it? I guess, though, now that I think about it, we have already done a TON this summer. The kids went to sports camp and arts camp and a real-life Camp Rock. We spent a week at Myrtle Beach. We moved from Atlanta to Milwaukee. We went to the Wisconsin Dells. We moved from Milwaukee to Toronto. The kids went to the cottage. The kids are in camp.
Sheesh.
With only a few weeks until school starts, and not too long until days start getting shorter and getting colder, we have to take advantage of the little time we have left. Luckily for us, we have some built-in fun close to home. You see, my old bones are tired of moving and packing and going away. I kind of just want to stay in one place for a little while.
BUT, do not worry, there is tons of fun to still be had.
Because
a) we just bought ourselves a 14-foot trampoline for the backyard. OH YES WE DID. Ever since my kids visited my brother and sister-in-law’s house in Nashville, they have been smitten with the backyard trampoline.
See? Instant fun!
and
b) our backyard backs onto a lovely wooden ravine complete with paths to discover. So, the Martells have been exploring. We head out into the wood after dinner and do some exploring. And I do some photographing. Or at least I try…
So, that’s it. I know it doesn’t sound all that exciting, but I think our entire family needs a little down time before the hectic back-to-school filled September rears its busy head.
