if hot mamas know one thing…it’s underwear. yes, yes, it’s not a secret that i go commando an awful lot. yes, i realize that you may find this a little, erm, trashy possibly, what with the whole Britney-shows-her-snatch-to-the-paparazzi fiascoes of past, but i promise you, try it, you won’t be sorry, and you’ll never be able to wear a skirt with underwear again.

but, when i wear jeans, underwear is a must…because otherwise, ouch! and i don’t just wear any kind. i’m VERY particular.
The Victoria’s Secret cotton V-string

the are inexpensive. they are super sexy and super fun at the same time. they are way better than a g-string, because the v at the back keeps them from riding into your crack all day, which i can really appreciate. as i’m sure you all can too. because there’s nothing HAWTER than a woman picking a wedgie in public…

my new most favorite pair

you can usually pick them up at 5 pairs for $20…so you can’t really go wrong. try ’em. tell them ali sent you 🙂

i saw Juno this weekend. twice. i really did. and i loved it BOTH times. it was amazing. the dialogue. the characters. the music. it was a perfect little movie. and not just because Juno uses the word ‘shenanigans’ please see it, if you haven’t already.

you guys have been fantastic with your boot recommendations. please keep them coming this week. on friday i’ll have Emily choose the winner of the $17.79 Starbucks gift card. i bought myself a caffe misto on it. sorry. they are my new drink of choice. because there’s only 88 calories in a GRANDE. as opposed to the 120 in the skinny (the new lingo for nonfat sugar free) vanilla lattes i’ve been drinking. way to save a whole 32 calories, ali!

  1. Not a fan of the v-string myself. I have wore them in the past but I’m a much bigger fan of the the boy shorts or the hipsters. I want to see Juno so so so bad! I need a date night!. 🙂

  2. I’ve finally convinced my husband to see Juno with me…I have heard so many good reviews!

  4. What’s a Misto?
    I’m curious.
We haven’t seen Juno yet but really want to. Our movie of choice was Alvin and the Chipmunks. Woo Hoo! (okay, but it was adorable how into it Matt was)
As for underwear, I adore the v string also. I also have these 2 weird boycut type thongs which I bought on sale at La Senza and have never seen again. I love them, but no one makes the cut. I think they work on me because my butt is disproportional to my body (not freakishly so). I would argue they are better than the v-string.
But, sadly right now I’m into the pregnancy thong because I’m carrying super low.

  5. Oh, I want to see Juno so badly! It wasn’t playing in our town and we were too lazy to drive the 45 minutes to the city where it was playing. So we saw I Am Legend instead. About as opposite a movie genre you can find! It was good, in an apocalyptic, cannibalistic virus-zombie kind of way. But the next flick I see shall be Juno!

  6. umm i went to see Sweeney Todd about 2 weeks ago and on friday i went to see I Am Legend with a friend….as for panties um…….

  7. I have to see Juno – everyone is talking about it!

  8. I really want to see Juno! I have heard nothing but good things about it.

I am intrigued by the v-string. The price is right too.

And…what is a misto? I usually get the skinny hazelnut 🙂

  9. I have got to see Juno! Not so sure Aaron will go for it – maybe it’ll be a girls night.

I’ll admit that I like commando for skirts as well. If Aaron can go commando under his kilt why can’t I under my skirt?!?

A girlfriend went to the states and bought me $100 in VS v-strings. Sweet!

  10. I love V-strings. That’s mostly what I own. Although the maternity version is not really as nice. You’d think it would be easy to adapt a simple thong to maternity stretchy-requirements without screwing it up!

  11. Since having kids I’ve gone back to granny panties… Maybe once my arse shrinks some more then I’ll reward myself with some nice new thongs.

  12. I want to see Juno SO much!
I can never wear a thong again, though – and we won’t go into why but I just can’t. I’m firmly a member of the granny panty club now, much to my husband’s heartbroken libido’s dismay.

  13. Oooh I want to see that movie so bad! And? I did NOT know that those underwear were so cheap!! Must go shopping now. Thank you for giving me an excuse!

  14. I really want to see Juno. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. We saw No Country For Old Men this weekend…it wasn’t as good as I thought it would be, given the hype, but it was well done. Have you seen it?

  15. Wow I wish we had victoria’s secret here…

  16. Can’t wait to see Juno.

But what I really want to talk about is that you might just be my underwear twin. Okay so that might sound … um … awkward. But seriously – I only have two options: 1. commando and 2. VS v-strings. That’s it. Cause that’s how I roll. I have never really dished about my undies before …….

Comment by Sandra on January 7, 2008
  17. you’ve likely seen these already, but it’s a shot. 😉 http://www.theshoecompany.com/C-E-6-3xxx-640-Xxxx.html

And I’m with ya on the v-string. I have a dozen or so myself.

Comment by Jay on January 7, 2008
  18. Well, I hope you’re not wearing skirts to work now!

    Comment by Haley-O on January 8, 2008
  19. first of all, the fact that you bought a prize to give away in a contest, then used that prize for yourself, well, that just makes me love you about a thousand times more than i already did.

secondly, i think it’s funny that i’m basically the opposite of you – i can’t wear skirts without underwear (and usually shorts also, but that’s a habit that comes from wearing skirts out to dance events all the time), but i go commando almost always the rest of the time, including in jeans. go figure, right? 😉

Comment by Lara on January 8, 2008
  20. I am a fan of going commando in my yoga pants and skirts. *hides face* But yes, underwear is a MUST in jeans. Also, I cannot wait to see Juno!

Comment by manda on January 8, 2008
  21. Ah, daughter saw Juno and fell in love with it too… as for the underwear; I am too old and my body no longer has the shape appropriate for teensie tiny undies anymore 🙁

There’s nothing more gross than seeing thongs at Victoria’s Secret (well, LaSenza up here) in size XXL…. ewwwwwww.

And the Starbucks? Well, since daughter is a barista, she filled me in on all their new “lite” fare post-holiday season. I’ll have to try one for myself one day (or ask her to make me one here at our little Starbucks at home).

Comment by Maureen on January 8, 2008
  22. Love the caption. I am anal (get it… ewww) about things riding up my crack, so I’m not sure even a v-string would be something I could handle. ha!

  23. I think my husband wants to see Juno more then I do.

So getting some of those panties. I will be hot… snort.
