This. Five years ago.
It feels like forever ago that I was TEN days overdue during what felt like the hottest August to ever happen in the history of Augusts. I was  just so anxious to meet the little tasmanian devil that was going to make our family complete. THE BABY. I wanted to see who she’d look like (my mother) and who she’d be like (um..godzilla?!).
I had no idea that she was going to be this amazing blonde, curly-headed child.
I had no idea that she was going to become this lovely little queen of the one-liners.
I had no idea that her biggest fear in life would be the burning bush. Yes, the god one.
I had no idea that she’d have the most interesting taste in park wear.
I had no idea that she’d invent a Care Bears Countdown and The Final Countdown mashup.
I had no idea that she’d never wear pants.
I had no idea that she’d never be able to pronounce vanilla.
I had no idea that she’d be the kind of kid who could entertain herself for hours…with barbies or littlest pet shops or, you know, empty boxes..
I had no idea that she’d be terrified of ladybugs…and also, pretty shocked and angry when she found out that LADYbugs could be boys too.
I had no idea that she’s be a walking Spongebob Squarepants encyclopedia.
I had no idea she’d be such a ham.
Or a diva.
I had no idea something so small could eat so much.
I had no idea that she’d be THIS. The kindergartener who only wears dresses and skirts (that HAVE to twirl!)Â and tiaras and fancy shoes and necklaces and bracelets but is always covered, head-to-toe, in bruises.
I had no idea she’d be so stubborn.
I had no idea that one little girl would change my life so much.
Happy Birthday, my Bellezilla. My Belrose. My Bellerina. My Boots. My Isabella Rose.
