last week we spoke about the things in life that are totally overrated. today i thought we could talk about those things that really are worth the hype. now, i’m sure there will be people who disagree and say…”ipods suck Ali…you can get a zune and it will do the exact same thing” and they might be right…but i love me some ipods (which is probably why i have..erm, 4). Sure there are tons more i could add…like…lululemons because oh. my. god. they are AMAZING.

  1. Slim jeans? Not so cute on me. But I’m heavier than you.
30 Rock is my new favorite show – it’s so much fun.
I can’t think of anything that I love off the top of my head… um, I’ve really been loving a scarf that a reader sent me this week. There you go: hand knit scarves: worth the hype.

  2. All your talk about skinny jeans is really starting to anger me, because I cannot wear skinny jeans. 🙂

Worth the hype? Spanx, the iPhone, Tivo, and Splenda.

  3. This is going to show my lame side, but I just got a new Dyson and holy cow is it ever worth the hype! Of course the whole time I use it I hear a little Mr. Dyson voice in my head, accent and all, saying, “It won’t lose suction…evah” but I can live with that. haha

  6. Winsor pilates? REally! I see those infomercials, but have been skeptical, maybe I should buy it!

  10. After being reminded of the Dick in a Box video, I had to go search and watch it again (and again!).

  12. The new Doctor Who is worth the hype.

I’m happy enough that I can now just barely squeeze back into my size 14s. I gave up on them just after Christmas last year, IIRC, so I’m gonna have to be careful. 😉

I have two TT13s this week:

  13. 30 Rock for sure!!! I don’t think it’s gotten ENOUGH hype.

Being taken on a surprise weekend to Nashville by one’s husband. Hype or not…it was great!

  18. I haven’t seen 30 Rock yet. Maybe with the writers strike I should check it out.

The skinny jean is not me. I have skinny legs and a size 10 foot. Not so cute, unless I want to look like a clown.

  22. If skinny jeans magically made me skinny, I’d agree. Sadly, they are fat jeans for me.

And I LOVE 30 Rock! I think it actually is under-hyped. I wish more people were watching it. And you know I’m with you on the Cheesecake Factory.

Comment by andi on December 14, 2007
  23. I think 30 Rock is brilliant! I don’t have any experience at all of the other 12 items.

  27. 30 Rock is the god of my idolatry, but you already knew that. I think it’s time for Quotes of the Week, don’t you? 😉

“Ooh, look at you guys. How was court?” ….”Oh, you were really IN court?”

    “This is a flask.”

“It was just one game dad…although I did kind of change everything forever.”

  29. Did you include “skinny” jeans because you knew they are controversial because they promote an unhealthy image for women, and thus would generate a lot of disgusted comments (like this one)?

Comment by Saskboy on December 17, 2007
  30. That’s hysterical that skinny jeans and Cheesecake Factory are on the same list! For me, you just can’t have them both.
