2. my favorite food of all time is Indian. I almost always choose it over anything.

this one is FALSE.

i’m pretty picky in general when it comes to food…but i can pretty much find something to eat anywhere. anywhere, that is, at long as it’s not an Indian Restaurant. Did you see Along Came Polly? when Jen Aniston takes Ben Stiller to an Indian restaurant….and it just about kills him…yeah, that’s me.

my first choice is usually sushi. i could eat it every day. i also really like pizza and pasta. and nachos. i’m on a huge nacho kick…even though i swore i would never eat nachos again….after my sick sunburn, post-nacho night. I like Chinese food and Thai food.

We don’t eat out all that much. although i really have no clue as to what would constitute all that much. but definitely not more than once a week. and we NEVER take the kids. kids in restaurants, especially my kids, are much to much…erm…work. also, i pretty much hate other people’s kids when i’m eating out, so i feel like by leaving my kids at home, i’m doing the restaurant patrons a service.

i’m big on ordering what i know i’m going to like. it’s boring i realize, but there’s nothing worse than ordering something new and hating it, only to leave the place hungry. i’m also big on ordering what i like – not ordering a salad because that’s what other women are getting. who are they kidding? that’s not REALLY want they want to order, it’s the social pressure to look like they eat healthy. i can eat healthy at home. If i’m going out, it’s a treat, i’m going to go all out. and i’m going to eat the fries, damnit.

congrats to SciFi Dad, Mrs. Mogul, Sam, Laural, Rebecca, Karen, Sara, Haley-O, Vaguely Urban, RLGelber, loren, and AndreAnna for getting the right answer!

and again…it’s not too late to start guessing now. you’ve already got a two point head-start! Send me your guesses here.

My little prima ballerina had her ballet recital tonight. She was a total tapping rockstar. even if her costume made her look like a showgirl. seriously…she looks like she’d fit right in at the Moulin Rouge.

come on over to Fabulous today. It’s Hot Topic Friday again and today we are discussing the mother of all controversial topics – circumcision.

  3. My niece’s ballet recital is tonight. I can’t wait!!!! Being the fantastic aunt that I am, I am even bringing flowers. I figure since Matthew will never do ballet recitals I can live out the fun with my niece.
As for Indian food. I’m with you on that one. I don’t like Indian food.
I have to admit, I sometimes order the salad. But, they are usually not that healthy.
We bring Matthew to buffets (i.e. Tuckers) because he can handle them, he gets what he wants, and it’s fast. Nicer restaurants aren’t worth it.

  7. I can’t wait to put Avery in dance, I really hope she wants to do it! Your daughter is WAY TOO CUTE! Sequins are always charming aren’t they?

And I laughed at your social pressure to eat healthy, because at lunch today there was a table full of teenage girls fresh out of school and they all got salads. I thought to myself that one of them probably genuinely wanted one, so the rest felt to embarrassed to order the cheeseburger.

(to answer your question, I don’t do ‘real’ scrapbooking. Wish I did, because I love pretty papers, and finished scrapbooks are great keepsakes…but I find digital scrapping to meet my needs a little better. It’s neater -cleaner, allows do-overs, and lets me easily make perfect cuts and sizing. You a scrapper?)

  8. i totally pick restaurants based on what i already know i’m going to order there. it’s very predictable, but at least i know i’ll like what i get. 🙂

also, why is your daughter tapping at a ballet recital? that was confusing to me…

~~she dances for this place called The Dance Place. They offer everything there – jazz, acro, tap, hip hop, ballet. this year her class was 1/2 ballet, 1/2 tap. but their end-of-the-year performance was all tap. Next year i’m switching her to another dance school and she’s taking hip hop.  ~Ali

  11. I love little kids in dance class! Especially if they’re really little and just kind of stumble around the stage, flapping their arms and looking at each other like “What do we do next?”

And from the recitals I’ve gone to, her costume was pretty reserved 🙂
